My NBA player props today focus on some less-heralded players as part of Friday’s NBA best bets.

For tonight’s eight-game slate, I’ve found betting angles on AJ Green, Jaden Ivey, Nic Claxton, and Derik Queen.

With AJ Green’s scoring line as high as 11.5 at FanDuel, I don’t see bet365’s bargain of 9.5 lasting that long. Green has scored 33 points over his past two games, taking 22 shots in that span.

Green’s 3-point prop is as high as 3.5, indicating that he should flirt with this scoring line on the long ball alone. According to Props Madness, the Nuggets rank 22nd in defending spot-ups, which is where Green gets 52% of his scoring.

Jaden Ivey (Pistons) Under 14.5 points + rebounds + assists (-118) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey could have a tough time making an impact against the Houston Rockets.

Ivey is averaging 8.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 17 minutes per game. He’s only cleared this PRA line 10 times in 27 contests. I don’t see that changing against the Rockets, who rank third at defending spot-ups, where he gets 35% of his scoring production (per PropsMadness).

Ivey’s PRA line has only been higher once in his past four outings, so I’ll take the value on the Under.

Nic Claxton (Nets) Under 17.5 points + rebounds (-120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton is a name to watch at this year’s trade deadline, but facing the Boston Celtics is a difficult challenge.

The Celtics are the best team in the league at defending the restricted area. They are second in guarding the roll man on pick-and-rolls. They also rank sixth in rebounds allowed.

None of that bodes well for Claxton, who is averaging 9.4 points and 6.4 rebounds over his past nine outings. This line is as low as 16.5 at BetMGM, so I’ll place my wager at FanDuel.

Derik Queen (Pelicans) Under 4.5 assists (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

New Orleans Pelicans center Derik Queen has been running extremely hot with assists in recent games. Last time out, Queen had eight assists on seven potential dimes. He’s averaged 5.4 potential assists across his past five outings.

As a general guideline, a normal assist rate is about 50% of potential assists. Queen is averaging 4.4 assists on 6.1 potential dimes per game this season. I’m comfortable betting on some regression in this spot, particularly since the Memphis Grizzlies rank eighth in defending the restricted area.
