The 76ers have started 3-0 thanks to the production of their young backcourt. Instead of the conversation being about how dangerous this team could be with a healthy Embiid (on a 20-minute limit) and Paul George, it appears to be about how they can move on from the expensive veterans.

I'm skeptical that this is the best version of Embiid we will see the rest of the year. It’s been only two games, everybody. After sitting out last night’s contest, I like Embiid’s chances of making an impact following two days of rest. In his previous outing, he scored 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting.

I project another 20-point effort against a young Washington Wizards team tonight, which is why I like the value on this Over at -102 to earn $9.80 on a $10 bet.

🔥 Ajay Mitchell Over 17.5 points + assists (-125) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It can be difficult for the best sports betting sites to keep up with young players, as they are most likely to exceed expectations. I think that’s happening with Mitchell.

Mitchell is averaging 18.7 points, 4.3 assists, and four rebounds per game. He’s cleared this prop in all four contests. This line closed at 14.5 earlier in the year, but I don’t think it’s climbed nearly enough. 

I project 16 points and four assists in a favorable matchup against the Sacramento Kings.

⬆️  Ryan Kalkbrenner Over 7.5 points (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kalkbrenner, who was my favorite Rookie of the Year long shot in the preseason, is off to a solid start with the Charlotte Hornets. The big man is averaging 9.3 points and 7.7 rebounds on 87.5% shooting.

Kalkbrenner’s field goal percentage ranks second in the NBA, and the Hornets should be trying to get him more involved. He’s already cleared this scoring prop twice in three games, and I expect him to find opportunities on a switch against the Miami Heat.
