Underdogs and a Kingly prop constitute Tuesday’s best bets for the NBA's six-game slate. Check out our top NBA picks for Tuesday based on the best NBA odds.

After betting heavily on favorites recently, we’re turning our attention to underdogs and some mispriced spreads.

The Chicago Bulls are underdogs against a Memphis Grizzlies team that has played well below expectations recently.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans are home favorites against an Atlanta Hawks team in need of a bounce-back performance, and can the Minnesota Timberwolves cover for a fourth straight time against the Denver Nuggets?

We’ll cap off Tuesday's six-game slate with a LeBron James player prop. "King" James needs 36 points to become the Association’s all-time leading scorer. Can he get there Tuesday when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Oklahoma City Thunder?

Here are our NBA best bets for Tuesday (odds via DraftKings and FanDuel; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

NBA top picks

Spread: Bulls +8 vs. Grizzlies (-105 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

Two teams on opposite trajectories collide Tuesday night, and we’re backing the squad with momentum on its side.

The Bulls have won and covered in three straight and are 7-3 straight-up and against the spread over their last 10. Memphis has lost three in a row, and the team is just 2-8 SU and ATS across its last 10.

The Grizzlies are just 15-10-1 ATS at home and 13-10-1 as home favorites. The Bulls are 11-6-1 as road dogs, and despite sporting a 6-12 record against Western Conference opponents, we’re taking Chicago to cover a spread that’s ballooned out of control.

Despite the advantage of homecourt, Memphis does not deserve to be so heavily favored based on the team’s recent play.

Moneyline: Pelicans ML vs. Hawks (-120 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

Fresh off a 20-point loss against the Denver Nuggets, the Hawks head down to the Big Easy in search of a bounce-back performance against the Pelicans. Conversely, the Pels have won two straight, including a 32-point victory against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.

The Pels are 16-12 ATS at home and 10-9 as home favorites. The team is 14-5 SU as the home favorite and 19-9 at home.

For its part, Atlanta is 14-15-1 ATS on the road and 11-9-1 as the road dog. The Hawks are just 9-12 SU as road underdogs. Atlanta beat New Orleans by three at home on Nov. 5, but the script will be flipped for the Hawks on the road.

New Orleans is expected to get Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas back after both sat Sunday. The safer bet is on New Orleans to win outright rather than betting the spread, so we’ll take slightly shorter odds and bet the Pelicans ML.

Spread: Timberwolves +9 vs. Nuggets (-110 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

At 18-10-1, the Nuggets sport the second-best ATS home record in the NBA. Why, then, are we targeting the Timberwolves? The Wolves are just 10-14 on the road this season, but Minnesota has had Denver’s number, winning two of three season matchups and covering in all of them.

Though Denver has been phenomenal ATS at home overall, the team is just 6-7 when favored by at least nine points at Ball Arena. Denver rested most of its starting lineup Sunday for the second game of a back-to-back set, so Nikola Jokic and Co. should be well rested.

Nevertheless, Denver has performed poorly against Northwest Division opponents, going just 5-9 ATS, including the 0-3 mark against Minnesota.

This spread opened at Wolves +7.5, so we’ll take advantage as it continues to climb.

Prop: LeBron James Over 34.5 points vs. Thunder (+145 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Unless you’re new to the NBA world (if so, welcome!), you’re well aware that LeBron James can become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer Tuesday against the Thunder. Sitting at 38,352 career points, James needs just 36 more to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and we’re betting that he does so against Oklahoma City.

James has scored at least 35 points in 11 of 43 games this season. That’s just over a fourth of his outings, but seven of those games came in the month of January. He’s been hot recently, and James has scored at least 35 in three of his last seven home appearances.

The Thunder are below average in points allowed per game, and this figures to be a high-scoring affair, with a slate-high 238.5 point total.

James will make history Tuesday, and bettors can cash a plus-money player prop in the process.
