Lynx vs. Fever Prediction, WNBA Betting Odds & Expert Picks: Aug. 22

Last Updated: August 22, 2025 11:31 AM EDT • 4 minute read X Social Google News Link

The WNBA championship odds-leading Minnesota Lynx hit the road tonight to take on the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, with tip set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ION). With Indiana still down Caitlin Clark, and Minnesota's dominant defense being the reason it's a 6.5-point betting favorite, my Lynx vs. Fever prediction expects a low-scoring game.
Given Napheesa Collier's ankle injury, I'm also targeting Aliyah Boston to have a big outing cleaning the glass with my best player prop as part of my Lynx vs. Fever prediction.

⬇️ Under 165 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Despite the Fever being known as an offense-first team, they're just 17-18 betting the Over this season. Between the absence of Caitlin Clark and many of the best sportsbooks setting Indiana's game totals high because of its style of play, the Fever are 5-3 betting the Under since the beginning of August. And now, Aliyah Boston and Co. are taking on the best defense in the WNBA.
Led by Courtney Williams, the Lynx allow the fewest points per game in the W (76.0) and rank No. 1 in defensive rating (98.4). Their offensive style of play leads to lower scoring games, too, with their pace rating being the third-slowest in the league (76.9). Plus, with Collier missing significant time due to an ankle injury, it has only made Minnesota a better Under bet. Minnesota is 4-0-1 betting the Under since Aug. 8, and has failed to score more than 75 points in back-to-back games.
When these two teams met in the WNBA Commissioner's Cup on July 1, they easily hit the Under on a 160.5 game total, combining for just 133 points. Clark missed that game, too, but Collier played and Minnesota still put up just 59 points. That's why I'd play the Under on this game total as low as 162.5, with these current odds paying a $9.09 profit on a $10 winning bet.

💰 Best Lynx vs. Fever player prop bet

⬆️ Aliyah Boston Over 8.5 rebounds (+105) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm expecting plenty of shots to miss the target tonight, which should lead to a healthy dose of rebounds for Boston. She's sixth in the WNBA in rebounds per game (8.3) and coming off a 13-rebound game against the Connecticut Sun.
With Boston having gone for nine-plus boards in 10 of her last 12 games, these plus-money odds at Caesars are hard to pass on.

❓Lynx vs. Fever FAQs
Who is the favorite to win Lynx vs. Fever?
The Lynx are a 6.5-point betting favorite on the road against Indiana.
How do WNBA spread odds work?
When betting on the WNBA, the favorite needs to win by a certain number of points to cover the "point spread" - also known as the betting line. Conversely, the underdog needs to lose by fewer than the points displayed in the spread or win outright to cash. For example, a 3-point favorite would need to win by 4 or more points to reward bettors.
How do WNBA moneyline odds work?
When betting on the WNBA, the underdog will have the "longer" odds and is typically priced at "plus-money" odds that indicate the profit on a $100 bet. For example, a team with +150 odds would turn a $100 bet into a $150 profit - or a $10 bet into a $15 profit - according to our odds converter.
