On the final night of the regular season, the Chicago Sky (10-33) will host the New York Liberty (26-17) on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET from Wintrust Arena. My Liberty vs. Sky prediction doesn’t expect much offense in a game that doesn’t really matter.

New York, which is a 9-point betting favorite, figures to be the No. 5 seed as it attempts to defend its title. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Liberty take it easy against a Chicago team that won’t be in the playoffs when Round 1 begins on Sunday, though I'm backing the Under to lead my WNBA picks for this matchup.

It took until the final week of the season, but the Liberty finally had their ideal playoff rotation in Tuesday’s 75-66 win over the Washington Mystics.

Jonquel Jones, Breanna Stewart, Leonie Fiebich, Natasha Cloud, and Sabrina Ionescu made up the starting rotation. Kennedy Burke and Emma Meesseman were the only reserves to play more than 15 minutes.

The result was a display of New York’s superior length, which played a part in the Mystics being held to 66 points. That’s the path to the Liberty defending last year’s championship, despite a regular season that has been derailed by injuries. Jones, Stewart, and Ionescu have all missed an extended stretch.

While the Liberty’s playoff rotation should have no problem containing the Sky, I could also see a world where they decide to rest some key players ahead of Sunday’s playoff opener. That could limit New York’s offensive production in the regular-season finale, as we have seen throughout the season when the team went 25-17-1 to the Under.

With multiple paths to the Under in this game, I’m comfortable taking the -110 odds via DraftKings on a $10 bet to net a $9.09 profit.
