🏁 Quaker State 400 predictions, expert picks & best bets at Atlanta

We’re back in Atlanta tonight for the fourth superspeedway (or drafting track) race of the year. These events are characterized by tight pack racing, high speeds, and big crashes – the NASCAR stereotypes that most people have come to expect.

Aside from those factors, superspeedway racing has become increasingly characterized by Ford dominance. Since the NextGen Era began in 2022, Blue Ovals have led 51.9% of the laps despite making up less than half the field. That rate improves to 63.5% over the last three seasons.

With Ford dominating at superspeedways and getting its act together to win at Talladega in April, I think the Blue Ovals will take the checkered flag here tiday. That's why I predict Brad Keselowski will win the Quaker State 400 at Atlanta.

It looked like Keselowski might deliver for us at +2500 last weekend at Pocono, but a costly blunder by crew chief Jeremy Bullins – and an untimely caution – combined to cost him the win. The brutal sequence of events wasn’t unlike those that cost Keselowski a win here in 2023.

While it feels silly to say that a driver is “due,” Keselowski’s superspeedway skill probably should have resulted in a win for him since he left Team Penske to join RFK Racing. He owns six wins at Talladega in his career and another win at Daytona (not counting two duel wins).

If the Ford camp can be as efficient as it was at Talladega, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Keselowski being the Blue Oval driver to take the checkered flag. He needs a win to make it into the playoffs, and we saw how aggressive his team was willing to get to (nearly) finish the job at Pocono last week.

💎 Best value bet to win Quaker State 400: Chris Buescher ⭐⭐⭐⭐

📊 Best odds: +2200 via DraftKings ($10 to win $220)

Keselowski and Buescher are in similar price ranges, but I tend to give drivers over the +2000 mark the “value” designation. Buescher is actually below this number at most other books, so head to DraftKings to take advantage of the best deal on the market.

The Team Penske Fords have been the clear leaders on superspeedways, but, perhaps unsurprisingly, the three of them are shorter than +1000. That opens up value on Keselowski and Buescher, who also pilot Blue Ovals but for Keselowski’s team at RFK Racing.

While Buescher hasn’t won at Talladega like Keselowski, he has won at Daytona, and he was in contention to win here in the summer race two years ago. That race, like this one, took place at night – which means the track isn’t quite so hot and slick. I love getting some exposure to him at this price.

🎯 Best long shot to win Quaker State 400: Noah Gragson ⭐⭐⭐

📊 Best odds: +6500 via Caesars ($10 to win $650)

Like Buescher and Keselowski, Gragson pilots a Ford. He doesn’t drive for RFK Racing, though – he drives for Front Row Racing. Last February, his now-teammate, Todd Gilliland, led the most laps at Atlanta before suffering a late-race setback and finishing outside the top 10. Despite the failure, his car and the FRR stable looked fast enough to win.

This year, Gragson scored a fourth-place finish at Talladega. He also earned the 10th-place starting spot at Atlanta, which he parlayed into a top-10 finish in the first stage before getting involved in an accident down the stretch. With his team needing a win – and Gragson having won at Atlanta and Talladega in the Xfinity Series – a $650 return on a $10 bet is too good to pass up.

💰 Best Quaker State 400 prop bets & picks at Atlanta

We’ll be leaning on the above two drivers, Buescher and Keselowski, with our five-star NASCAR prop bet for the 2025 Quaker State 400 – along with a fun long shot that is well worth adding to your card.

🔥 Best prop bet for Quaker State 400: Ford winning manufacturer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am a simple man: I see Ford at plus-money to win a superspeedway race and I click “place bet.” With a $10 wager offering a $12.50 profit, that’s more than a strong enough return to get me excited here. Again, Fords have led over half the laps on superspeedways since 2022 – and 63.5% since 2023.

The Blue Ovals should’ve won the Daytona 500 this year (they led 143 of 201 laps) and the spring Atlanta race (195 of 266). Their performances in those events led to some strategy changes, and while the manufacturer wasn’t quite as dominant at Talladega (51 of 188), a Ford driver still won the race.

With most of the favorites for this event piloting Fords, back the manufacturer to take the checkered flag on Saturday night’s race.

🚀 Best long-shot prop bet for Quaker State 400: Noah Gragson ⭐⭐⭐

📊 Best odds: +350 via Hard Rock Bet ($10 to win $35)

I apologize for not taking a longer shot in the dark with this pick, but I feel there is simply too much value here. If you want something in the quadruple digits, back him for a top-five finish at +1100. Gragson is getting seriously undervalued due to his shaky start to the season. He has a good enough resume – and a fast enough car – for us to trust him at a track like this one.

The postseason seems a long ways away for the No. 4 team, and while I wouldn’t be surprised to see them risk it all for a win, Gragson would be happier than most drivers in the field with a simple top 10 (or top five). We saw him get the job done in the last superspeedway race, too. Scoring a $35 return on a $10 bet is a solid three-star investment to pair with a dart throw on him to win.

📈 Quaker State 400 trends & EchoPark Speedway history

Here are a few Quaker State 400 trends to consider before betting on Sunday's race at EchoPark Speedway.

🏎️ Fords are crushing it on superspeedways ... Blue Ovals have led 1,988 of 3,132 (63.5%) of all possible laps on these tracks since 2023, including 539 of the last 792 (68.1%) at Atlanta.

🏎️ … but they have struggled to find Victory Lane. Despite Ford’s dominance in the laps led department, only one of the three superspeedway races has gone Ford’s way this year, and only half went the manufacturer’s way last season.

💡 How to bet on NASCAR at Atlanta

When betting on superspeedways, there are a few NASCAR betting strategy tips to keep in mind. We’ll tackle a few of them below, including one that stands out for Atlanta:

  • Mix in some long shots. Last year, Harrison Burton came in at quintuple digits to win at Daytona and punch his ticket to the playoffs. With NASCAR’s points system increasingly reliant upon wins, drivers know they have to find Victory Lane to keep their season alive, resulting in increasingly aggressive racing – and some surprising winners – down the stretch.
  • Put some stock in starting position. The driver who went on to lead the most laps in the last six Atlanta races (all but the first of the NextGen Era) started from the first three rows. While only two of those drivers actually went on to win the race, Atlanta is a shorter and narrower track, making passing more difficult than at other superspeedways.
