After back-to-back road wins over the Seattle Storm, the Mystics (5-3) have one last stop to make before returning home. The Fever (2-6) are waiting for them in Tuesday's Twitter showcase at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Fever have been feisty to start the year with a 4-3-1 against the spread record, while the Mystics have performed below market expectation at 2-6 ATS. Can Indiana cover as an underdog again, and perhaps pull off the upset?

Full disclosure: I wanted to bet the Under for this game. The total for this game has moved from 160 to 157 at the best sports betting apps. My projections show a slight value on the Under at 157.5 at BetMGM, but I'm not sure how long even that number will last.

Instead, we will take the first-half Under of 79 at DraftKings. Most of the same logic will apply to this bet, and now we don't have to worry about free throws in a potentially close game down the stretch. For what it's worth, I'm projecting a 78-75 win for the Mystics. 

Washington is 7-1 to the Under this year and plays with a pace that shows no sign of stopping this Under train. The Mystics have a pace of 82.6 this year (possessions per 40 minutes), according to HerHoopStats.com, which ranks ninth in the league. Indiana is actually 12th in that metric at 81, despite its 5-3 clip to the Over.

Both teams rank in the bottom half of the league in points per game and points per possession. The 2023 season might be young, but that was also the case last year when Indiana was last in the W with an average of 78 points per game and Washington was eighth at 80.2 points per contest. 

Though we got to this pick due to the market's steam on the full-game Under, a slower start would make sense for this matchup. Both teams were in action on Sunday and have had only one day off, including a Mystics team that flew in from Seattle. 

This will be a low-scoring battle from start to finish, but I'm counting on the start being a defensive battle with this four-star pick.

We placed this bet at DraftKings when the line was set at 79, but the consensus first-half total is now 78.5 across our best sports betting sites. This is still playable at 78.5, but make sure you take advantage of the slight discount that FanDuel is offering.

If looking for another play in this game, the best sportsbooks have set Washington's team total at 80.5. The Mystics might very well win, but I'd bet against them scoring more than 80 points. If the Fever do pull off the upset, then there is even more value on the Mystics' Under.
