Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes Prediction, Odds & Expert Picks Today: CFL Week 14 Preview

Last Updated: September 6, 2025 10:36 AM EDT • 5 minute read X Social Google News Link

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are coming off a heartbreaking loss in the Labour Day Classic and are looking to rebound today at 1 p.m. ET (TSN/RDS, CBSSN) against the Montreal Alouettes.
With Davis Alexander still out for Montreal, my Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes prediction is taking Hamilton to cover as a 3.5-point betting favorite and backing Bo Levi Mitchell to shine as part of my CFL picks.
🏈 Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes prediction: Week 14
CFL odds subject to change.
- Moneyline pick: Tiger-Cats (-166 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐
- Against the spread pick: Tiger-Cats -3 (-108 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Over/Under pick: Over 52 (-110 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐

📝 Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes best bet
🐯 Tiger-Cats -3 (-108) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Montreal started the season hot as one of the Grey Cup odds favorites, but has seen injuries derail a once-promising season. The Alouettes have failed to cover the spread in seven of their last eight games, including four straight. The last time they played Hamilton, in Week 4, the Tiger-Cats won 35-17 as a 2.5-point underdog.
Although the Alouettes are set to get several wide receivers back, including Tyson Philpot, they're still down Davis Alexander and McLeod Bethel-Thompson. That leaves James Morgan to start again. He's completing just 57.6% of his passes and averaging 6.2 yards per attempt with three interceptions in two games - the Als have lost those games by an average of 15.5 points.
Hamilton is coming off a tough last-second loss to the Toronto Argonauts, but the Tiger-Cats are in far better shape than Montreal with the league's highest-scoring offense (30.3). Hamilton has covered in five of its last nine games, and if it does again, a $10 bet pays a $9.26 profit.

💰 Best Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes player prop bet
⬆️ Bo Levi Mitchell Over 305.5 passing yards (-120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Even in defeat last week, Mitchell lived up to his billing as the CFL Most Outstanding Player odds favorite. He threw for 405 yards and three scores while completing 73% of his passes against the Toronto Argonauts.
That marked the sixth time this season he's thrown for at least 306 yards, with the two-time CFL MOP winner averaging 314.7 passing yards per game this season. Montreal is suspetible to the pass, allowing the fourth-highest passer rating in the league (102.7), so expect Hamilton to go to the air often.
If Mitchell throws for Over 305.5 yards, there's a 54.55% probability he will, a $10 bet pays an $8.33 profit at DraftKings.

📈 Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes betting odds analysis
The spread likely won't see much movement with Hamilton opening between -3 and -3.5 at the best sports betting sites, and the line remaining there as kick off approaches. Given Montreal's inability to cover as of late and the Tiger-Cats' defensive woes, it's hard to justify the spread moving in either direction.
Latest Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes odds

How do CFL odds work?
When betting on the CFL, the point spread shows how many points the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -3 must win by more than 3 points to cover the spread, while an underdog at +3 must win outright or lose by fewer than 3 points to cover the spread.
Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total will be higher or lower than the set number.
