The BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders clash this evening in the CFL West final. My Lions vs. Roughriders prediction the home side to cover as a 3-point betting favorite.

Kickoff from Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan, is slated for 6:30 p.m. ET (TSN/CFL+), and my CFL expert picks are looking for a standout performance for a Saskatchewan wide receiver.

🏈 Lions vs. Roughriders preview & score prediction

The Lions have won seven straight games after defeating the Calgary Stampeders in the West semifinal. While Nathan Rourke has led BC on an impressive run, it’s unlikely it’ll upset the Roughriders, who are the betting favorite to win the Grey Cup at the best sports betting sites

While the Lions are 13-6 to the Over this season, the Roughriders are 12-6 to the Under, making the total somewhat of a toss-up - even though I expect Saskatchewan’s defense to set the tone on Saturday. The Over/Under is just a lean for me, but my best bet for the West final is Roughriders -3 (-110).

Roughriders defense slows down Nathan Rourke

While Trevor Harris exceeded expectations to close out the regular season, throwing for 340-plus yards in three of his final four games, Rourke has arguably been the best quarterback in the CFL this year.

Rourke completed 70.4% of his passes for 5,290 yards with 31 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in the regular season, while rushing for an additional 10 scores. The Most Outstanding Player candidate completed 16 of 22 passes in the West semifinal but threw for just 223 yards with zero touchdowns - a sign that he’s likely coming back down to earth.

Rourke is preparing to face Saskatchewan’s defense, which allowed the fewest points in the CFL this season and held opponents to 23 or fewer points in nine of 18 regular-season games. The Roughriders have forced six interceptions over their last four games, giving up an average of just 19 points in that span.

Caesars has the best odds available at the time of publish. The -110 odds on Roughriders -3 own an implied probability of 52.38%, and a winning $10 bet would profit $9.09.

Score prediction: Roughriders 27, Lions 21

🆚 Lions vs. Roughriders matchup to watch

Samuel Emilus vs. Lions secondary

Roughriders wide receiver Samuel Emilus should feast on the Lions’ secondary on Saturday. He has recorded 78 or more receiving yards in four of his seven games this season, including a 142-yard outing against the Toronto Argonauts in Week 19.

The Lions gave up 66 or more receiving yards to three Stampeders players in the West semifinal, including multiple plays of 40-plus yards. With Emilus leading the Roughriders in targets when they claimed the division title in Week 19, expect the Lions’ pass defense to struggle for the second straight game on Saturday.

The best odds available at the time of publish for Emilus to go Over 64.5 receiving yards are -115 at DraftKings. A winning $10 bet would profit $8.70 with an implied probability of 53.49%. I'm also offering my best bets for the CFL East Final in my Alouettes vs. Tiger-Cats prediction & odds.

Best prop bet: Samuel Emilus Over 64.5 receiving yards (-115 via DraftKings)

🌤️ Lions vs. Roughriders weather

Temperatures in Regina for the Lions vs. Roughriders West final on Saturday evening will be around 8 degrees, which should give a slight edge to the home team. There’s a 0% chance of precipitation, with wind gusts forecast at up to 8 mph, so while the wind won’t hinder quarterback play, the cold conditions will likely make Lions players uncomfortable.
