Last Updated: October 30, 2025 8:10 AM EDT • 5 minute read X Social Google News Link
We will keep this simple. With the exception of the Super Bowl, there are no better wagering days on the sporting calendar than the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
Coming from Del Mar for the fourth time, the 2025 Breeders’ Cup features 14 races spread over two days. Consider each of the 14 races an All-Star race, sending out the best horses in the world over varying lengths and surfaces. Every race, from the five-furlong Sprint to the 1 1/4-mile flagship Classic, provides more wagering opportunities than any other day on the racing calendar. It’s a wagering puzzle with infinite possibilities, and our Breeders' Cup predictions break down all the biggest races this weekend.
The races will be televised over two days on NBC and USA Network, and streamed on Peacock.

🚨 My 3 best Breeders’ Cup predictions for Friday
Intrepido to win the Juvenile (8-1)
Let’s get the obvious out of the way early. If 4-5 favorite Ted Noffey runs according to form, it’s ball-game, drive-home-safely for the rest of the field. The Into Mischief progeny is 3-for-3 with two Grade 1s on the resume: the Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga in his second outing and the Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland earlier this month. His speed figures are the class of the field, he easily conquered two turns and–in Todd Pletcher–has a Hall-of-Fame conditioner with four of these on the CV. Between him and fellow Hall-of-Famer Bob Baffert, they’ve won the last four Juveniles.
Speaking of Baffert, he brings in Brant (5-2), who is 2-for-2 at Del Mar, a record that includes a Grade 1 score in the Del Mar Futurity in early September. Considering Baffert has won two of the three BC Juveniles at Del Mar (Corniche in 2021 and Citizen Bull last year), Brant needs to be on your tickets somewhere.
But putting aside Ted Noffey for the moment, the someone we’re saying will somehow find the winner’s circle is Intrepido (8-1), last seen beating an armada of Baffert horses in one of the best juvenile preps on the slate - the Grade 1 American Pharoah at Santa Anita. That race accounts for six of the last 11 Juvenile winners. Betting Intrepido to win and in exotics with Ted Noffey gives you value and coverage.

Percy’s Bar to win the Juvenile Fillies (9-2)
This is as wide-open a field as you’ll find on Friday’s BC card and you could make a credible case with your Breeders' Cup predictions for at least five fillies to find the winner’s circle. Bob Baffert’s duo of Bottle of Rouge and favorite Explora will take plenty of money. Bottle of Rouge won the Del Mar Debutante on this track in the summer, with Explora taking second before winning the Oak Leaf at Santa Anita.
But we’re going to look east, toward Percy’s Bar. She comes west after a runner-up finish to fellow Juvenile Fillies’ competitor Tommy Jo, courtesy of a steward’s decision dropping Percy’s Bar to second for bumping Tommy Jo. The Alcibiades has been the prep race of choice for two of the last three winners and three of the last six, tag-teaming with New York’s Frizette over that span.
Percy’s Bar hasn’t finished out of the exacta in four races (2-2-0) and in the Alcibiades, cruised home by nearly three lengths over 1-2 favorite Tommy Jo. She has the speed and favorable gate to bring home value on your tickets. Do not ignore Super Corredora (15-1), who should be featured prominently on your tickets. In her last outing, she overcame early traffic to dismantle a one-mile maiden field at Santa Anita by 8 ½ lengths.
Her speed figures have increased every race and she showed plenty in the tank during her gallop-out in that last race.
Gstaad to win the Juvenile Turf (9-5)
Not surprisingly, this is a race dominated by the Europeans, who have captured 13 of the 18 Juvenile Turf events. That includes all three previous editions held at Del Mar (Mendelssohn 2017; Modern Games 2021; Henri Matisse 2024). It’s also a race not kind to favorites; the chalk won this race twice in the first 16 events.
That said, chalk has chalked up the last two wins (Henri Matisse and Unquestionable). And with Gstaad, we see nothing to shake this trend loose this year, starting with conditioner Aidan O’Brien, European racing’s top trainer. O’Brien has won this race seven times in 24 tries, to go with six runners-up. With Gstaad, O’Brien sends out a colt who hasn’t finished out of the exacta in five races (2-3-0).
The three seconds all came in Group 1 events, and each was convincing enough to keep all but two other European imports on the east side of the Atlantic. But one of those: North Coast (trained by O’Brien’s son, Joseph) screams down-ticket value at 30-1. Also keep an eye on Argos (6-1) and Outfielder (10-1).
