Here are my best Austrian Grand Prix predictions for Sunday's race at Red Bull Ring. Picks based on odds from our best sports betting apps

๐Ÿ† Pick to win Austrian Grand Prix: Lando Norris โญโญโญ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Best odds: +230 via Caesars | Implied probability: 30.30%

I'm giving Norris, who we also covered in our Austrian Grand Prix best bets, the benefit of the doubt for the Austrian Grand Prix. The McLaren driver haphazardly ran into the back of Oscar Piastri in an attempt to pass him at the Canadian Grand Prix. He also made a mistake in qualifying that prevented him from taking pole position.

While his errors were as costly as they were avoidable, Norris was noticeably faster than Piastri all weekend in Montreal. Norris hasn't yet proven he possesses the character, resilience, and mettle of a champion, but this weekend's race presents an opportunity to prove it.

If he can overcome the pressure and race mistake-free, he should have the speed to win.

He had a chance to win last year's Austrian Grand Prix before colliding with Verstappen down the stretch. The question is whether he can channel his frustration and put together a near-flawless weekend.

๐Ÿ’Ž Best value bet to win Austrian Grand Prix: Max Verstappen โญโญโญโญ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Best odds: +350 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 22.22%

Verstappen finished second in Canada two weeks ago and was in the lead last year in Austria before colliding with Norris. He has won the race four times, the most in the history of this Grand Prix.

The first half of the track favors the high-powered MCL39, but I expect the four-time defending champion to show his pedigree toward the tail end, where drivers slalom through a series of tight and quick corners, including the storied Rindt right-hander.

At +350, the Dutchman is worth a go. DraftKings is the only one of our best sports betting apps offering +350, with Caesars and BetMGM providing less value at +300.

๐ŸŽฏ Best long shot to win Austrian Grand Prix: Charles Leclerc โญโญ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Best odds: +1800 via Caesars | Implied probability: 5.26%

I stretched the statute of limitations as much as I could at the Canadian Grand Prix, interpreting Russell as a long-shot pick despite his relatively palatable +1600 odds. In my defense, Russell won the race - his first of the season - which resulted in a $160 profit for anyone who tailed the "long-shot" play.

For the record, I favor Russell again in this race. Unfortunately, there's no way to sell his +750 odds as a long-shot pick.

The only long shots with a chance of winning are Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, and Kimi Antonelli. The latter has shown glimpses of brilliance but won't win unless another collision occurs at the front of the grid.

Hamilton has shown signs of improvement recently, finishing sixth in the previous two races, but he's still a ways off winning. That leaves Leclerc, who finished fifth in Montreal and has three podium finishes. With a solid start and a good qualifying, he's in with a chance.

Plus, Leclerc won the race in 2022, the only driver from a team other than Red Bull and Mercedes to triumph in Austria since 2014.
