The World Baseball Classic started on Tuesday night with the Netherlands' win over Cuba. One of those teams is right back in action Wednesday night as we look at our WBC best bets.

Wednesday's WBC action sees Australia take on Korea with 1-0 Panama battling 1-0 Netherlands. Panama defeated Chinese Taipei 12-5 on Wednesday morning but gets right back to it at 11 p.m. ET. The Netherlands is comparatively well-rested following its 4-2 dumping of Cuba Tuesday night.

Korea is one of the second-tier teams with a chance to win it all while Australia will just be happy to win a game. Korea is a huge favorite on the moneyline and to get decent odds on the run line you have to lay -2.5 (-165) or -3.5 (-110), so the total is the play here.

Australia starter Jack O’Loughlin had a 3.34 ERA in 194 minor-league innings from 2018 to 2022, including a 4.01 ERA in 51 2/3 innings at Class-A Advanced last year. He has a 3.27 ERA across 22 innings in the Australian Baseball League this year.

Korea’s Young Pyo Ko has a 4.25 career ERA across 746 innings in the KBO, but has settled down since returning to the league in the past two seasons (2.92 ERA in 2021, 3.26 ERA in 2022).

The Over 8 is -115 at BetMGM and at BetRivers the total is at 8.5, so there is a bit of line value here as well.

Netherlands ML vs. Panama (-200 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Netherlands and Panama have both already played a game in this tournament and are 1-0 heading into Wednesday night. Panama upset Chinese Taipei for its first-ever WBC victory and the Netherlands took down Cuba in a low-scoring affair.

The Netherlands has nearly a full 24 hours between games, however, while Panama has a quicker turnaround with this day game after a night game, when accounting for the time change.

This line is as low as -220 at PointsBet, so we’re getting 20 cents on both BetMGM and DraftKings at -200.
