Ronald Acuna NL MVP Odds & Prediction: Why Braves Star Warrants a Bet Right Now

Do you know who's been the hottest hitter in baseball during the last two weeks? It's not Cal Raleigh despite the fact that he can't stop hitting home runs. It's not Aaron Judge nor Shohei Ohtani, who each went through some recent relatively cold spells.
No, the hottest hitter in baseball during that time - and really, since he returned from the torn ACL he suffered last season - is Ronald Acuna. Let's strike before the best sports betting sites price him among the favorites by the MLB MVP odds.
Here's why I think we need to bet on Ronald Acuna to be the 2025 NL MVP now.

🧑🏫 Why you should bet on Ronald Acuna to win NL MVP

Acuna has been nothing short of absurd through his first 28 games this season. He's crushed nine home runs already and has stolen three bases.
The outfielder owns a higher wRC+ than Aaron Judge and has accrued a ridiculous 2.2 fWAR in those 28 games. To put that last number into context, Judge leads the league with 6.1 fWAR in 78 games, so he accrues roughly 0.078 wins above replacement per game.
If we break down Acuna's numbers, he, too, would have accrued 6.1 fWAR had he played 78 games in this fashion. That's a long-winded way of saying that when healthy, Acuna has been the best player in the NL.
🩹 Don't be scared of the injury history
We know he can do it over the course of a season, too. This is a player only two years removed from capturing NL MVP honors by becoming the first hitter in history to go 40-70. The skill set has never been in question, but I understand that some people will be concerned about the recent knee injury.
Well, the data tells us that it's at least not affecting Acuna to this point. He's hitting the ball as hard as he ever has, and his average sprint speed is right in line with what it was in 2023 when he stole 73 bases.
🏃 Bet these odds before they're gone
The other aspect of this bet that I love is that we're getting better odds now than you would have when this market opened. Sure, Ohtani is doing his thing, but I can't understand how Acuna opened at +3000 in March before he ever played a game and now sits at +5000 after making an especially triumphant return.
It's a mistake, in all honesty.
That brings me to the real value of this bet when we're talking about odds this long: the ability to cash it out for a profit. I'm pretty convinced Acuna will be the second-biggest favorite this time next month, so if you bet at one of our best sportsbooks that provides you with the opportunity to cash-out your wager for a profit down the road, I'd head there.
BetMGM does so, and FanDuel (+4000) and ESPN BET (+5000) are typically very good, too.

🕵️ Daily betting options
Unfortunately, our sites with the best sportsbook promos made the adjustments on almost all of Acuna's daily hitting markets. However, one does still stand out.
Sure, Acuna has stolen only three bags so far, but as I mentioned, he doesn't appear to be any slower. It's almost certainly due to a lack of opportunities - you can't steal bases if you keep hitting homers - and perhaps the team telling him to take it easy early on.
However, I expect Acuna to start running more often. And if his stolen base prop hovers around +300 on a nightly basis until an adjustment is made, we could make some serious money.
🧙♂️ Fantasy baseball impact
This is tricky, because the first issue is that you're not picking up Acuna in any kind of league. He's universally rostered in every format, on every platform. So, if you want to get him, you're going to have to try to trade for him.
That's proven difficult for me, too, as I tried to send Jacob deGrom and Mookie Betts to a team in need of pitching for just Acuna, and they rejected it. I get it, some people would rather roster the guy and probably not win than risk looking like an idiot for trading away a superstar in the name of competing.
My suggestion would be offer something similar if you have pitching depth. Pitcher value begins to diminish around July, so you don't have many more weeks to try to move one without taking a bit of a hit on the return.
💰 Braves betting odds
Our best MLB betting sites have endless options for both novice and experienced baseball bettors. You can bet on live games and find dozens of player props. You can bet on if a player will hit a home run or if a player will record a stolen base.
