Boston looks to complete a four-game road sweep of Baltimore and ascend the AL East standings this afternoon, which my Red Sox vs. Orioles prediction suggests the visitors can do comfortably.

First pitch from Camden Yards in Baltimore is slated for 1:05 p.m. ET (MASN, NESN). Oddsmakers list Boston as anywhere from a -188 to a -210 betting favorite as it goes for the series sweep with Garrett Crochet on the bump.

Boston southpaw Crochet is close to overtaking Tarik Skubal as the American League Cy Young odds favorite, and his dominance over Baltimore is the biggest reason for this Red Sox vs. Orioles best bet.

Crochet has made four career appearances and two starts against the Orioles and has pitched to a 1.13 ERA. In addition, his 0.563 WHIP against Baltimore is his lowest against any of the 19 teams he has made multiple starts against.

In nine of Crochet’s last 17 starts, six or fewer combined runs were scored, and the Under is 7-1 in Baltimore’s last eight games as home ‘dogs.

I also expect Cade Povich to do his part in matching zeros with Crochet, as he has allowed a respectable four earned runs in 9 ⅓ innings in two no-decisions against Boston this season.
