Everything started out dandy for Paul Blackburn in his June 2 return from injury this year, as he blanked the Los Angeles Dodgers in five scoreless innings. But it's all been downhill from there for the 31-year-old journeyman.

He followed that season debut by getting rocked in Colorado across four frames of 7-hit, 3-run ball, and he got shelled by the Rays last Friday - allowing four earned runs in five at-bats before getting lifted after 1/3 innings.

Color me skeptical that he can avoid damage against the Braves, who rank fourth in average exit velocity (90 MPH) and seventh in hard-hit rate (42.4%). Blackburn allowed three or more earned runs in half his starts last year and two straight entering this one, and I love these even odds on a repeat tonight.
