The Cleveland Guardians (40-42) carry a four-game losing skid into their series opener against the Chicago Cubs (49-35) at 8:05 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Wrigley Field.

Despite moving 10 cents overnight, there is still value in taking the Cubs’ moneyline at -175 or better before first pitch. Chicago is as high as -181 at our best sports betting sites, indicating belief in the home team.

That’s because the Cubs have an elite offense, ranking third in MLB with a wRC+ of 115. They are one or two pitching reinforcements away from being legitimate World Series odds contenders in a top-heavy National League.
