San Francisco snapped a seven-game losing streak on Sunday. It has won two straight for the first time in 11 days, with its two best pitchers, Logan Webb and Robbie Ray, coming to the rescue.

But the Giants have anything but an ace on the mound tonight, which is why I am backing San Diego’s runline with my Giants vs. Padres prediction.

When Kai-Wei Teng and Pivetta matched up last Wednesday, the Padres cruised to an 11-1 victory after tagging Teng for seven runs in 1 ⅔ innings. That was the second loss in Teng’s three starts, where the team allowed 11 or more runs.

Teng will need to pitch much better when opposing Pivetta, whose .233 BABIP is second-best in the majors.

Don't sleep on the Padres just because the Dodgers swept them, as Los Angeles has their number. That was the Padres’ fifth straight series loss to the Dodgers (including playoffs).
