The Dodgers are playing the best baseball of their season at the opportune time. They are 9-1 this postseason, which includes a pair of sweeps. No matter how you slice it, the Dodgers deserve to be favored in Game 1. Ballpark Pal’s model gives them a 61.5% chance of victory, suggesting a fair price of -160. Anything better than that is a win, given how efficient World Series odds can be.

🚀 Blake Snell Over 17.5 outs (-130) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My favorite angle for Game 1 of the World Series is betting on Snell to finish six innings. My, how things can change. Snell famously didn’t log more than 16 outs in either of his two starts in the 2020 World Series against the Dodgers.

But that’s not who Snell is anymore, especially on this team with the lack of reliable options in the bullpen. He has pitched at least six innings in all three starts this postseason, including eight innings against the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS. 🚀 Blake Snell Under 2.5 walks (-192) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I wouldn’t normally touch Snell’s walks prop, but it’s worth adding the Under to this parlay.

Snell has gone Under this mark in two of his three starts this postseason, issuing one walk against the Cincinnati Reds and zero free passes against the Brewers. 

While the Blue Jays have the lowest strikeout rate in the league, they aren’t taking a lot of bases. Their walk rate of 8.4% ranked 13th this season. This Under is worth adding to the SGP.

🚀 Will Smith Over 0.5 walks (+125) ⭐⭐⭐

Yesavage, the second-youngest pitcher to start Game 1 in World Series history, has a command issue at times. He issued six walks in his two starts during the ALCS after recording seven in three regular-season starts.

On the biggest stage of his career, I’m willing to bet the Dodgers will work a walk or two against Yesavage. Max Muncy is one of the better bets in that regard, but has minus-odds to reflect that. I’ll grab this price for Will Smith instead.

Smith has two walks in his last three games, so I like the plus-money value in this matchup.
