Shohei Ohtani and Max Scherzer face off as the starting pitchers in tonight’s World Series Game 7, and they are both included in my Dodgers vs. Blue Jays player prop bets.
My MLB picks factor in that the Dodgers are -150 moneyline betting favorites for this game, with first pitch scheduled for 8 p.m. ET from the Rogers Centre in Toronto (FOX).

💰 Best player prop bets for Dodgers vs. Blue Jays
Our MLB player prop odds tool shows the best odds for every market across legal sportsbooks in your area.
⬇️ Shohei Ohtani Under 4.5 strikeouts (-124) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Under on Shohei Ohtani’s strikeouts is my five-star best player prop bet, despite him recording six strikeouts in Game 4. Ohtani threw six innings and 93 pitches in that start, but tonight’s outing figures to be much shorter with his O/U for outs recorded set at just 9.5.
Ohtani generated whiffs on 52.4% of his breaking pitches in Game 4, his fourth-highest in a game this season. But I am concerned about his arm pitching on just three days rest for the first time in his career, especially since his 97.5 mph velocity on his four-seam fastball in Game 4 was his third-lowest velocity of the season (and he generated an 18.2% whiff percentage with that pitch).
Ohtani’s O/U for strikeouts is as low as 3.5 with the Under juiced to +110 at 47.62% implied odds at BetMGM. But I am making the safer play despite a worse payout through DraftKings’ higher 4.5 total. Its -124 odds would net $8.06 in profits on a winning $10 wager.
⬇️ Max Scherzer Under 1.5 earned runs allowed (-105) ⭐⭐⭐
Max Scherzer allowed three earned runs in 4 1/3 innings while throwing 79 pitches in his Game 3 start. But the Under on Scherzer’s 3.5 hits allowed prop is juiced as high as -185 at BetMGM (carrying a 64.91% implied probability), so I would not expect manager John Schneider to allow him to face the Dodgers lineup more than once.
Los Angeles entered Game 6 slashing just .214/.306/.360 since the wild card round, and it only scored runs in one inning while being limited to four total hits yesterday.
Through BetMGM’s -105 odds, a $10 wager would return $9.52 in profits if Scherzer allows one or fewer earned runs.

💣 Teoscar Hernandez to hit a home run (+550) ⭐⭐
It's wise to focus my best home run prediction on a Dodgers slugger with Max Scherzer toeing the rubber for the Blue Jays in Game 7.
Scherzer is coming off his first regular season in which he posted a 2.0 HR/9 rate, and his 37.1% fly-ball rate was well above the future Hall of Famer's previous career-high of 33.6% in 2013.
The veteran's HR/9 rate ballooned to 2.9 over Scherzer's last six starts entering the postseason, and he's allowed six long balls in his last four outings, including one to Teoscar Hernandez in Game 3. So while I expect Scherzer to stay Under his projected earned runs total, this is a great way to hedge if Hernandez were to take the righty deep again.
There is a sizable difference between the +550 odds at a 15.38% implied probability at BetMGM and the +470 home run odds at FanDuel on the low end of the market. The +550 odds would net $55 in profits on a $10 wager if Hernandez homers for the sixth time this postseason.
