The Diamondbacks are coming off fielding the league's fourth-worst relief pitching last year, with the unit putting up a 4.82 ERA. The Dodgers may need to be patient and wear down Nelson a bit, as his reverse splits show the Arizona hurler could be surprisingly tough on lefties. But opportunity awaits if he can be forced to depart early.

Sheehan's success often comes from his high strikeout potential, and tonight will be no different. He pitched only 73 1/3 innings last season after recovering from Tommy John surgery, but the right-hander still compiled 89 strikeouts. That translated to a 10.9 K/9, and a strikeout rate that sat in the top 8% leaguewide.

Freddie Freeman Under 1.5 total bases (-131)

Freddie Freeman is one of several imposing lefties in the Dodgers' lineup, the most prominent of which is of course the unicorn himself, Shohei Ohtani.

Nelson won't be able to keep all of the Dodgers' behemoth lefties down, but Freeman's platoon splits weren't nearly as pronounced last year compared to the previous season. And now the lefty faces a starter in Nelson who is highly effective against left-handed hitters. The righty posted a .565 opponent's OPS when facing lefties last year, and a .729 against righties.

Lefties also slugged just .278 last year against a four-seamer that Nelson throws a whopping 61.9% of the time.

Corbin Carroll to hit a home run (+320)

Corbin Carroll can be the exception in the Diamondbacks' lineup amid an otherwise sparkling outing from Sheehan.

With a walk rate of 10.4% last year, Carroll possesses the eye to sit on Sheehan's fastball, a pitch he throws an overwhelming 46.8% of the time. It's a pitch that's devastating when combined with the slider. But alone, and against a hitter like Carroll who's disciplined enough, Sheehan's fastball isn't as intimidating.

His heater came with an expected slugging of .477 last year, according to Baseball Savant, and Carroll teed off on four-seamers while slugging .680.

The Dodgers' talent alone is petrifying enough, but it's their depth that eventually suffocates opponents, which will be the case again tonight.

Even if Nelson can at least limit the Dodgers' powerful lefties, there's plenty of right-handed pop to get to him. And an abundance of patience at the plate to wear him down before capitalizing on a still struggling bullpen.

That's why I'm betting a full unit on the Dodgers' run line, especially after Los Angeles cruised to an 8-2 win last night. I'm doing the same with Freeman staying under 1.5 total bases, as although he could go off against the bullpen too, much of his night will be spent against Nelson in an unideal matchup.

There's a massive lean toward the Dodgers, with Los Angeles getting 91% of the moneyline bets and 90% of the run-line action through DraftKings. Bettors are expecting another offensive eruption from the Dodgers, as the Over on 8.5 runs is also receiving 82% of the bets.
