Brewers vs. Rangers Prediction, Odds & Expert Picks: MLB Best Bets for Sept. 10

The Texas Rangers look to inch closer to an American League wild card spot with a sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers, and I break down this series finale with my Brewers vs. Rangers prediction as part of our MLB picks.
The Brewers are the -140 moneyline betting favorite to avoid the sweep, but the total of 7.5 runs is more appealing based on the recent dominance of both teams’ starting pitchers.
One of the two righty hurlers is the focus of my best Brewers vs. Rangers player prop. This matchup kicks off the 15-game MLB slate with an early 2:35 p.m. ET first pitch from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas (MLBN).

⬇️ Under 7.5 (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
After having its three-game winning streak snapped in the series opener, Milwaukee is still in search of its 90th victory, which would mark three consecutive 90-win seasons for the first time in franchise history.
But as dominant as Milwaukee has been (3.5 games ahead for the best record in the league), Texas will be no pushover with Merrill Kelly on the mound, which is why I am backing the Under as my Brewers vs. Rangers best bet.
Brewers righty Freddy Peralta is the first pitcher in the modern era to have five consecutive appearances of five-plus scoreless innings pitched while allowing three or fewer hits in each.
He extended a dominant August where he pitched to a 0.32 ERA, which earned him the NL August Pitcher of the Month. Peralta brings his 29 consecutive scoreless innings into a matchup against Merrill Kelly, who has pitched to a 2.98 ERA in seven starts.
Kelly has made five consecutive quality starts and faces a Brewers lineup with an ailing Christian Yelich, who just played in his first game since Sept. 1 as he dealt with a back injury.
The Rangers are the seventh-most profitable team to the Under this year, and I am excited to back this side of the total again with a 53.49% implied probability even at a lower number.
Through FanDuel’s -115 odds, a $10 winning wager would net $8.70 in profits.

⬇️ Freddy Peralta Under 3.5 hits allowed (+100) ⭐⭐⭐
Peralta’s scoreless innings streak has propelled him to the league lead in wins and the second-best ERA in the National League.
Given the buzz surrounding his 29 consecutive scoreless innings, his earned run odds (+105 for the Under of 1.5) are sure to be one of his most heavily backed player props. However, I find more value in his hits total as my best Brewers vs. Rangers player prop bet.
Peralta has long been consistent in his ability to keep batters off the bases. He is the only pitcher since 2021 to throw 700-plus innings while allowing an OBA better than .200 (.197).
Peralta should find success against a Rangers lineup that ranked 19th in batting average (.239) and 20th in BABIP (.276) against right-handed pitchers in home games from the start of August to yesterday.
And it helps that the Brewers coaching staff has been cognizant about Peralta’s innings pitched, as his Under of 16.5 outs recorded being juiced to -120 suggests another five-inning performance could be his ceiling again.
Caesars gives Peralta a 50/50 chance for Peralta to turn in a sixth consecutive start with three or fewer hits allowed. That is where I am laying down my $10 wager while trying to return that amount in profits through the +100 odds.

How do baseball odds work?
When betting on MLB, the run line shows how many runs the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -1.5 must win by two or more runs to cover the run line, while an underdog at +1.5 must win outright or lose by one run to cover the run line.
Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total of runs will be higher or lower than the set number.
