Best Home Run Predictions Today: MLB Odds, Picks & Prop Bets for Sunday, May 4

We went 2-1 with our picks yesterday, and our best home run predictions today look to keep the good times rolling by backing some of baseball's biggest stars.

We started in The Bronx with who else but Aaron Judge. The MLB MVP odds runaway favorite homered yesterday and I think he has another missile locked and loaded for today.

Then we have picks from a pair of games that started just after 2 p.m. ET. First, we're backing a struggling Christian Walker to get back on track against the White Sox, and then we're looking at the other Chicago team as Kyle Tucker continues to tear the cover off the ball for the Cubs.

Finally, we finish in Atlanta, where the Dodgers and Braves do battle once again. We're provided our Dodgers vs. Braves prediction and Dodgers vs. Braves player props for that Sunday Night Baseball showdown, but we also have a juicy home run pick from it.

Apparently, the theme of today's picks is guys who hit home runs yesterday (and Christian Walker).

Freeman punished the Atlanta fans who used to cheer for him with an eighth-inning nuke to put last night's game out of hand, and I see him doing something similar tonight.

The first baseman has quietly been fantastic to start the season despite missing roughly two weeks of action after re-aggravating his ankle injury. Freeman looks healthy once again, and he's absolutely crushing the ball this year.

In fact, he's managing the hardest average exit velocity of his entire career, and the rest of his batted-ball data isn't too shabby, either.

This is my favorite home run prop of the bunch today.

Do I really need to explain this one in great detail?

Sure, these odds are relatively short for a player to hit a home run, but Judge isn't just a normal player.

Obviously, it's been only 33 games, but by wRC+, what Judge is doing this year isn't Barry Bonds-esque. No, it's beyond Bonds. Judge's 270 wRC+ is so absurd that I'm not even sure it's real as I sit here and stare at it.

The runaway AL MVP favorite homered yesterday, and I don't see Taj Bradley having any more luck containing Judge.

⚾ Christian Walker (Astros) to hit a home run ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +350 via FanDuel (bet $10 to win $35)

On the flip side, Walker has been terrible this season. The Astros acquired him this offseason to help keep them competitive amid the departures of Kyle Tucker and Alex Bregman. However, he's done anything but help, as Walker has actually been worth minus-0.1 fWAR through 34 games.

Walker is too good to play this poorly much longer, though, and I think a matchup with Bryse Wilson and the White Sox bullpen is just what the doctor ordered.

The first baseman has the second-best home run projection of any player today, behind only Judge.

⚾ Kyle Tucker (Cubs) to hit a home run ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +425 via BetMGM (bet $10 to win $42.50)

Speaking of the Astros and Tucker ... woof. Sure, I get that Tucker is going to get absolutely paid in free agency and Houston didn't want to be on the hook for that contract. It's the same reason the Astros let Alex Bregman walk. After all, this is a team with very little history of winning or recent success. Wait a second.

I could bully the poverty Astros all day, but let's get back to Tucker.

The NL MVP contender is already up to nine home runs through 34 games this season. He's walking more than he's striking out, and his batted-ball data looks fantastic.

Tucker has another big home run projection today - as he often does - after launching a moonshot yesterday, and we're getting great value through these +425 odds.
