The par-3 17th at TPC Sawgrass, famously called the island green, measures just 137 yards but stands as golf’s most intimidating - and heavily wagered - shot. Between the nerve-wracking Sunday pressure and unpredictable winds, this single hole consistently drives huge betting action.

As we head into the 2026 Players Championship, let's dive into my favorite Players Championship hole 17 prop bets.

Hole in one on 17: Yes (+200 - .5u)

While +200 may feel a bit short, recent history supports the price. TPC Sawgrass has seen a run of hole-in-ones in recent years, including aces from Shane Lowry in 2022, Aaron Rai in 2023, and Ryan Fox in 2024. As wedge play and proximity numbers continue to improve across the field, the chances of another ace - especially with Sunday pin positions that feed toward the cup - are higher than ever. It's just one of several of my favorite Players Championship predictions this week.

Total balls in the water Over 41.5 (-125 - 1u)

Historical data shows that 2007 saw a record 93 balls in the water, while quieter years settle around 35-40. However, the forecast on Friday is giving me the confidence to take the Over here. With 18 mph winds and a 65% chance of rain, the second round could see 20-plus balls in the water alone. If the wind stays up, you could dive deep into the plus-money Over 49.5 market.

Total tournament birdies Under 69.5 (+116)

We saw exactly 69 birdies last year, and with the upcoming weather, I just don't see the field doing much better in 2026. Hole 17 is the highest double-bogey-or-worse rate on the course (8.5%). Players who are in contention - or even those just trying to make the cut - often play safe to the fat of the green. Coupled with some difficult conditions, this is a recipe for an Under.
