The competition takes a big step up this week with a 147-man PGA Tour field in attendance at Torrey Pines Golf Course just outside of San Diego. Our Farmers Insurance Open cheat sheet is here to help you decide what to bet.

Scottie Scheffler is taking the week off, giving golfers a chance to win, and bettors a chance to turn a meaningful profit. Xander Schauffele is the outright betting favorite with +1475 odds from DraftKings representing an implied win probability of 6.35%. Harris English (+4500) is back to defend last year's Farmers Insurance Open win.

💰 Our Farmers Insurance Open best bets

McLaren's best pick: Brooks Koepka to miss the cut (-118)

Our Dustin Saracini had a more optimistic outlook on how to bet Brooks Koepka's highly-anticipated PGA Tour re-debut this week, but this is easily my strongest play of the week. BetRivers is the only one of our best sports betting sites offering a 'no' side of the make the cut market for Koepka, and we're even getting equal odds on both sides. Brooks hasn't played on the PGA Tour outside of majors since 2022, and I'll need to see it before believing he can still compete at the highest level. His course history at Torrey Pines suggests this isn't the spot for a strong return, and his Farmers Insurance Open outright odds agree.

I also offer up three Farmers Insurance Open first-round leader picks.

Saracini's best pick: Hideki Matsuyama to win (+2500)

There's something about this track that Mastuyama absolutely loves. He has one third-place finish, two top-10 finishes, and five top-25 finishes at Torrey Pines. His proximity to the hole and solid approach is exactly what he needs for this golf course, and this is the year he finally breaks through and wins it. I'm playing him outright at these long betting odds with my Farmers Insurance Open picks, as well as the "Top Asian Player."

Blut's best pick: Aldrich Potgieter to win (+10000)

Aldrich Potgieter burst onto the scene in 2025 with a top-15 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open. This course favors players who can drive the ball extremely far, and that is Potgieter’s strength. As a 20-year-old, he stood out for his exceptional driving distance, averaging 329.5 yards in his recent appearances. He has the exact skill set needed to win at Torrey Pines Golf Course; I discuss further in my Farmers Insurance long-shot picks.
