Jayden Maiava, QB, USC: Over 256.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It might seem peculiar to bet on Jayden Maiava with his top receivers opting out, but Lincoln Riley isn't going to shy away from his passing attack. TCU allows the third-most passing yards per game in the Big 12 (242.8) and ranks outside the top 40 in EPA per pass on defense.
Even without his go-to pass catchers, Maiava, who leads the country in QBR (91.3), is capable of torching a banged-up Horned Frogs secondary.
Maiava is a big reason my favorite TD pick in my USC vs. TCU predictions is a wide receiver.

Eric McAlister, WR, TCU: Over 76.5 receiving yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Losing QB Josh Hoover in the transfer portal is a huge hit to TCU's chances, but if Sonny Dykes' team is going to keep it competitive, it needs to lean on Eric McAlister. The Horned Frogs' star is top five in the country in receiving yards (1,121).
Even with Ken Seals at QB, McAlister is capable of pushing a USC defense down its top defensive back, Kamari Ramsey.
And you have to think that TCU will manufacture touches for McAlister, who ranks top 10 in the country in YAC (519). He's gone Over 76.5 yards in five straight.
Taniela Tupou, TE, USC: Anytime TD (+400) ⭐⭐⭐
Our Phil Wood has freshman Tanook Hines as his best bet in his USC vs. TCU anytime touchdown scorer predictions, and I couldn't agree more. However, with tight ends Lake McRee and Walker Lyons not playing, it opens the door for another freshman to score.
Although Taniela Tupou hasn't caught a pass this season, he's my favorite long shot to score in the Alamo Bowl. Maiava likes to use his tight end, and McRee and Lyons combined for 50 receptions and six touchdowns on 75 targets.
With Tupou in line to start for the Trojans, he should see serious usage.
