If you like betting on quarterbacks to have success through the air, you definitely will be riding my TCU vs. Arizona State player prop picks for Friday night’s Big 12 battle from Mountain America Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. (9 p.m. ET, FOX).

As you will see with the following college football picks, I expect both QBs — TCU’s Josh Hoover and Arizona State’s Sam Leavitt — to fill up the stat sheet in this one (albeit in different ways). I’m also banking on a certain Sun Devils wide receiver to come up huge in this matchup, which features the home team as a consensus 3-point betting favorite.

⬆️ Sam Leavitt Over 1.5 passing TDs (-125) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

One reason I love this TCU vs. Arizona State prop bet: Abilene Christian's Stone Earle threw two TDs against the Horned Frogs two weeks ago, and SMU's Kevin Jennings tossed three last week. Another reason: Since Week 5 of last season, Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt has had at least two passing touchdowns in eight of 12 games, and he threw more than two six times.

Granted, Leavitt only had one passing TD in last week’s 27-24 last-second win at Baylor. But that just strengthens my confidence in this play. During this 12-game stretch, Leavitt has never gone multiple games without throwing multiple scores. Honestly, I won’t be shocked if Leavitt hits another TD trifecta Friday.

⬆️ Josh Hoover Over 285.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

TCU quarterback Josh Hoover has been on fire to start the season, amassing exactly 1,000 passing yards in three games. He lit up Bill Belichick’s North Carolina defense for 284 yards in the opener, then shredded Abilene Christian and SMU for 337 and 379 yards, respectively. He only completed 43 total passes in the latter two contests, and nine resulted in touchdowns.

Since taking over the Horned Frogs’ offense midway through the 2023 season, Hoover has three 400-yard passing games and 10 games of 300-plus yards. Now he gets to sling it against a Sun Devils secondary that ranks 96th nationally against the pass, surrendering 279 yards to Mississippi State’s Blake Shapen and 250 to Baylor’s Sawyer Robertson.

Play this TCU vs. Arizona State prop bet at FanDuel, where the -114 odds imply a 53.27% win probability. A $10 wager could net $8.77.

🔥 Jordyn Tyson to score 2+ TDs (+390) ⭐⭐

TCU vs. Arizona State Player Prop Picks: College Football Week 5
Pictured: Arizona State Sun Devils wide receiver Jordyn Tyson (0). Photo by Chris Jones via Imagn Images.

Time to roll the dice on a long-shot wager that directly correlates to my first TCU vs. Arizona State prop bet on Sun Devils quarterback Sam Leavitt. It’s pretty clear that Leavitt and wideout Jordyn Tyson have solid chemistry, as the duo has connected 31 times this season — no other Sun Devil has more than 13 receptions — for 357 of Leavitt’s 748 yards. And Tyson has hauled in five of his QB's six TDs.

Tyson had two TDs in three of ASU’s final eight games in 2024, then came out and duplicated that effort in the season opener against Northern Arizona. In all, the senior has scored at least once in 11 of his last 14 contests (including five in a row).

At +390 odds, this one has a low win probability (20.41%). But the potential payout at DraftKings is juicy: $39 on a $10 wager.
