Michigan State and USC offer bettors a chance to cash in late with their 11 p.m. ET kickoff from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (FOX) on Saturday night, and I break down this newer Big Ten rivalry with my Michigan State vs. USC player prop picks.
USC is one of the popular college football picks with its point spread up to -18.5 from an opening number of -15.5.
I add my best plays on USC tight end Lake McRee and Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles, while taking a flier on a third player prop at +225 odds. Be sure to also check out all of our college football predictions for Week 4.

⬆️ Lake McRee Over 32.5 receiving yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

USC head coach Lincoln Riley has not only developed three Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks in his collegiate career but has so far guided the Trojans to the top-ranked total offense. USC has averaged 604 yards per game, and while the competition gets stiffer against Michigan State, that is a lot of yards to go around for its talented tight end.
Lake McRee has the second-highest grade (83.3) of any Trojans offensive player (min. 50 snaps), per PFF. McRee’s 173 yards receiving are already 65.5% of his total from last year, and quarterback Jayden Maiava should show no signs of slowing down after passing for a conference-best 989 yards thus far.
FanDuel offers a slightly better number than the O/U of 33.5 that can be found at other best sports betting sites. At -114 odds, which carry a 53.27% implied probability, a winning $10 wager would net $8.77 in profits.
⬆️ Aidan Chiles to record 31+ pass attempts (-130) ⭐⭐⭐

Michigan State dual-threat quarterback Aidan Chiles has attempted 29 or fewer passes in each game this year while averaging 10 rushing attempts. But game script should force the Spartans to abandon the run, which should lead to a season-high in pass attempts for Chiles.
Over the last two weeks, USC faced 39 pass attempts from Purdue’s Ryan Browne and 35 from Georgia Southern’s JC French IV. The average halftime score differential was USC plus-16 in those games, and the Trojans are a 10.5-point favorite in the first half this week.
Chiles may have the third-worst passing grade and fourth-worst adjusted completion percentage of any Big Ten quarterback, but Michigan State will have no choice but to let him air it out more than usual this week.
I would not put anyone off backing Chiles to attempt 32 or more pass attempts at a better -105 price at DraftKings. But I am backing these -130 odds at a 56.52% implied probability in the hopes of netting $7.69 in profits on my $10 wager.
🔥 Waymond Jordan to score 2+ touchdowns (+225) ⭐⭐

Trojans running back Waymond Jordan has been embedded seamlessly into the USC offense, as the JUCO transfer already has a team-leading 286 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Jordan ranks second among Big Ten running backs in yards after contact per rush (5.92) and is a home-run threat, averaging 7.3 yards per carry.
USC owns the country’s second-highest scoring offense at 55 points per game and is projected to score at least five touchdowns based on its team total O/U of 37.5 points.
The Trojans also rank in the top 10 nationally in Quality and Finishing Drives. Thus, this wager is a great way to mitigate Jordan’s steep -280 anytime touchdown odds (carrying a 73.68% implied probability) while expecting him to find the end zone twice.
I am headed to DraftKings for this wager, as it is the only best sports betting app offering better than +188 odds for Jordan to score two touchdowns. Compared to the +165 odds on the low end of the market, these +225 odds are a steal and would net $22.50 in profits on a winning $10 wager.

How do college football player props work?
Player props are wagers on individual performances rather than the outcome of the game. Common props include passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, and touchdown scorers. For example, if a QB’s passing yards line is set at 250.5, you can bet the Over (251-plus yards) or Under (250 or fewer yards). You can also bet on if a specific player will score a touchdown in the entire game, the first or last touchdown, and more college football odds markets.
