My Miami vs. Texas A&M same-game parlay for the College Football Playoff expects No. 10 Miami to prove worthy of inclusion into this field by upending No. 7 Texas A&M on the road. Carson Beck is the caliber of quarterback who has cut through the Aggie secondary at times this season, despite their solid season-long averages.

The action for Miami vs. Texas A&M kicks off from Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, on Saturday at noon ET (ABC). Texas A&M is a 3.5-point betting favorite as part of our breakdown of the college bowl games this week.

Miami moneyline (+130) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Miami has the sixth-ranked adjusted defensive efficiency in the nation and could be one of the few defenses capable of slowing down the Texas A&M offense. Miami also averages a defensive interception per game, while Texas A&M has a negative turnover differential on the year (minus-0.5 per game). Marcel Reed has thrown six interceptions over his past five games.

The Hurricanes allow 14.8 points per game, and while I expect they’ll still give up more than that allotment in this game, their defense can mitigate Texas A&M’s 35.3 PPG scoring average.

Over 47.5 (-112) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Though both the Hurricanes and Aggies run measured paces offensively, their efficiency through the air can lead to gaudy scoring totals. Nine of 12 games involving Texas A&M this season have gone Over 47.5 total points, while eight of Miami’s 12 games cleared the number.

A close battle resembling Miami’s infamous 27-24 win over Notre Dame would cash the Over, as it’s the type of game I’m expecting. DraftKings’ line at 47.5 is favorable for Over bettors compared to 48.5 at FanDuel.

Carson Beck 233+ passing yards (-119) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Texas A&M has the 19th-ranked pass defense in FBS, allowing 195.2 passing yards per game. But it’s largely been elite performances against lesser competition that have inflated that average, as good quarterbacks have had success against the Aggies through the air.

LaNorris Sellers, Taylen Green, DJ Lagway and CJ Carr all produced 240-plus passing yards against Texas A&M this season. Carson Beck hasn’t fallen short of 233 passing yards in a game since October and has cleared this line in nine of 12 games this season.
