In a top 10 clash of Big Ten teams with championship aspirations, my Indiana vs. Oregon prediction and early college football picks break down the opening odds, with a focus on these two elite defenses.
The Ducks are a 7.5-point betting favorite for Saturday's game from Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore., at 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS), with my college football predictions for Week 7 taking the Under in this matchup.

⬇️ Under 55.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It can be easy to get swept up in the quarterback play of these two programs; Oregon's Dante Moore and Indiana's Fernando Mendoza are among the Heisman Trophy odds favorites after all. However, the Ducks haven't combined for Over 55 points with an opponent for three straight games, and the Hoosiers are walking into by far their toughest matchup of the season.
Dan Lanning's Oregon program is ranked No. 3 in SP+ on defense, allows the eighth-fewest PPG in the country (12.2), and gives up the seventh-fewest yards (238.2). Curt Cignetti's team is just as good on the defensive end, ranking No. 6 in SP+ on defense, allowing the third-fewest points per game (9.6), and the fifth-fewest yards (221.4). This will be the toughest matchup of both Moore and Mendoza's careers, and should have a major impact on the Heisman race and the NFL draft odds.
While Moore and Mendoza's NFL futures will be the talk of this game, both of these defenses are loaded with NFL talent, too. Oregon's Matayo Uiagalelei, A'Mauri Washington, and Bryce Boettcher have the Ducks ranked No. 15 in EPA per pass on defense, while Indiana's D'Angelo Ponds, Mikail Kamara, and Amare Ferrell have the Hoosiers ranked No. 7.
SP+ projects these two to combine for 50 points, and CFB-Graphs has them at 54 points. If they do hit the Under, a $10 bet at BetMGM pays a $9.09 profit.

💡 Indiana vs. Oregon odds analysis
Oregon opened as a 9.5-point betting favorite at our best college football betting sites, but the line has already seen some serious movement. With 63% of bettors backing the Hoosiers, the Ducks are now just -7.5. I lean toward taking Indiana at +7.5, and would only take the Ducks if the line were to drop to +5.5. As for the game total, it has jumped up from 53.5 to 55.5, with a whopping 82% of bettors on the Over. If, like me, you're targeting the Under, it wouldn't hurt to wait and see if this game total balloons up even more.
