My best Houston vs. Oregon State anytime touchdown scorer predictions focus on Dean Connors, Tanner Koziol, and Maalik Murphy ahead of Friday’s 10:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) game at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Ore. The Cougars are the 13.5-point favorites, and my best college football picks anticipate them scoring a lot.

Below, I explain why the Beavers’ defense is going to struggle in this game, and why the only touchdown scorer worth taking for Oregon State is a long shot. It's all part of our college football predictions for Week 5.

💰 Best Houston vs. Oregon State touchdown scorer props

Here are my favorite Houston vs. Oregon State anytime touchdown scorer picks based on the best college football odds for Week 5.

🔥 Dean Connors 2+ touchdowns (+235) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

After failing to score in the season opener, Connors has tallied three touchdowns in his last two games, including two against Rice. This week he takes on a defense allowing 39.0 points per game (131st of 136) and giving up 1.5 rushing touchdowns per outing.

While Connors will need to compete with quarterback Conner Weigman for carries, he's logged 16 more attempts than the signal-caller this year, even though they've both tallied the same number of touchdowns. However, in a game sure to feature plenty of scoring, I’ll take the rusher averaging 5.4 yards per carry against a defense allowing 4.9 yards per attempt, as he can score from anywhere on the field.

The price of +235 available at DraftKings implies a 29.85% chance that Connors scores twice. A $10 bet would pay $23.50.

🔥 Tanner Koziol to score anytime TD (+140) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Cougars have only completed 46 passes this season, but 17 of those have been to Koziol. The senior tight end has tallied nine more catches than any other player on the team, and he’s one of four recipients of passing touchdowns this year.

The school has scored 30-plus points in each of its last two games, but the Cougars have only notched four passing touchdowns, which is why this isn’t a five-star play. But the Beavers are allowing 2.8 passing touchdowns per game, so I expect at least one from the Cougars tonight. With how the Cougars have run their offense thus far, Koziol is by far the most likely receiver to score.

The price of +140 at DraftKings suggests a 41.67% that Koziol scores. A $10 bet would pay $14.

🔥 Maalik Murphy to score anytime TD (+470) ⭐⭐

Considering Oregon State is averaging just 15.8 points per game and is about to face a defense allowing only 9.7 per contest, it’s hard to love any Beavers when making Houston vs. Oregon State anytime touchdown scorer predictions. But this prop offers the most value, with the Cougars allowing 1.0 rushing touchdowns per contest.

Murphy has rushed for just three touchdowns his entire career, but he did score during the Beavers’ Week 1 loss to Cal. Additionally, while he only ran 19 times last season, Murphy has already recorded 15 attempts this year, and he should get plenty of opportunities tonight with his team trailing most of the game.

The passer's price of +470 at FanDuel implies a 17.54% chance he scores. A $10 bet would pay $47, which is significantly better than the $27.50 that would be paid through bet365.
