Georgia vs. Florida Prediction & Opening Odds for College Football Week 10

Who breaks when two defenses allowing 20 points or fewer per game meet for an SEC showdown?

My best Georgia vs. Florida prediction based on the opening odds for Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC) game at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla., focuses on the defensive strengths of both these teams.

No. 5 Georgia is a 7.5-point betting favorite, but my college football predictions for Week 10 are more concerned with the total.

⬇️  Under 50.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The last time Georgia took the field, they put up 43 points in a 43-35 win over Ole Miss. But for all the problems that Florida has had this season, defense has not been one of them. Florida has allowed just one opponent to score more than 30 points, as no Gators’ game has featured more than 55 points.

Both of these teams are allowing 20 or fewer points per game, and while Georgia is averaging 33.7 per contest, Florida is averaging just 22.4 (103rd in the nation). Considering how inept the Florida offense has looked at times this year, I expect this total to decrease as the week progresses. Therefore, I recommend getting in as soon as possible, as the total will be in the 40s at kickoff.

BetMGM’s price of -110 implies a 52.38% chance this game goes Under. A $10 bet would profit $9.09.

🔢 Georgia vs. Florida opening odds

  • Moneyline: Georgia -300 | Florida +240
  • Spread: Georgia -7.5 (-110) | Florida +7.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: Over 50.5 (-110) | Under 50.5 (-110)

↔️ Georgia vs. Florida line movement

Georgia has won three consecutive games by at least eight points, while all three of Florida’s losses to power conference teams have been by at least 10. Florida has defeated Texas and Mississippi State at home this season, but this isn’t a true home game, so I anticipate bettors backing Georgia and this spread hovering between 7.5 and 8.5 all week.

Both of these teams are known for their defense, and while Georgia’s offense is solid, the Florida defense held Miami to 26 and Texas to 21. This total will drop into the 40s by kickoff.
