Former star prospect Dylan Raiola is best known for seemingly living out a full-scale Patrick Mahomes impression, but the former Nebraska QB has a chance to do something the three-time Super Bowl champion never did: win the Heisman Trophy.

The latest Dylan Raiola Heisman odds, which were released this week, have the former five-star recruit priced at +2000 to win the award after he announced Monday that he'd transfer to Oregon - either to sit behind current starter Dante Moore for a season or likely start next year if Moore enters the NFL draft, as expected.

Here's a look at the latest Heisman odds and whether Raiola is worth betting early:

Josh Hoover, QB, Indiana +1100 $110
Gunner Stockton, QB, Georgia +1300 $130
Sam Leavitt, QB, LSU +1300 $130
Jayden Maiava, QB, USC +1700 $170
Marcel Reed, QB, Texas A&M +1700 $170

Bryce Underwood, QB, Michigan +3000 $300
Byrum Brown, QB, Auburn +3500 $350
Demond Williams, QB, Washington +3500 $350
Devon Campier, QB, Utah +4000 $400

To nobody's surprise, Texas QB Arch Manning opened as the betting favorite at FanDuel to win the Heisman Trophy after an inconsistent start to his collegiate career. He's priced just ahead of Notre Dame QB CJ Carr and two Ohio State stars in wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and QB Julian Sayin.

Beyond that group, transfer quarterbacks Josh Hoover (Indiana) and Sam Leavitt (LSU) are among the betting favorites, while Raiola has the third-best odds of any transfer after committing to Oregon on Monday. Curiously, those odds are even worse than they were a day earlier, when Raiola opened at +1700 to win this prestigious award.

Clearly, oddsmakers are concerned that Raiola could sit a year behind Moore before taking over in 2027, just as Moore did the year before behind Heisman contender Dillon Gabriel. But what if Moore declares for the draft and Raiola slots in as the starter in 2026?

The best way to approach betting on Raiola's Heisman odds isn't to decide one way or the other if he'll start next year - it's to consider the value if he does.

Sure, if Raiola spends a full season on the bench, he's obviously not winning the Heisman Trophy. But what if he gets the nod as the starter? If Moore declares for the draft as expected by the latest NFL draft odds, there's nobody better suited to take over than Raiola, who entered college as a blue-chip prospect and showed flashes of brilliance amid inconsistency in two years as a starter with Nebraska.

The Ducks have become a star quarterback factory with Gabriel and Bo Nix before him both transferring for one season in Eugene that ended with Heisman votes and an NFL draft selection. Moore was briefly the Heisman favorite this year before a head-to-head loss to eventual winner Fernando Mendoza, and both are expected to go pro this April.

With Raiola's odds sitting at 20/1, you could turn a $10 bet into a $200 profit just for buying in early on the potential (likely?) starter for one of the early favorites to win the national title next season. For anyone dipping their toes into this market so early in the calendar year, that feels like a value worth betting in my book.
