Citrus Bowl Odds, Spread, Over/Under 2022: LSU vs Purdue

The LSU Tigers are going to face a very different Purdue Boilermakers team than the one that qualified for one of the most prestigious games of the college bowl season. Read on for our top Citrus Bowl college football odds as LSU battles Purdue.
The Boilermakers will be without four of their top starters for the 2022 Citrus Bowl, including No. 1 quarterback Aidan O'Connell and wide receiver Payne Durham. All four players have declared early for the 2023 NFL Draft, leaving Purdue cripplingly shorthanded against one of the top teams in the nation.

LSU vs. Purdue Spread
LSU -14.5 is the consensus Citrus Bowl spread, with every major sports betting site offering -110 odds on both sides of the spread.
LSU went a slightly-above-average 7-6 against the spread in 2022, but stumbled down the stretch with just one cover in its final four games. That includes a truly dismal effort in a 38-23 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies as a 10-point favorite on Nov. 26.
Even at full strength, Purdue wasn't a great ATS team this season, going just 5-8 overall. That includes a 2-5 stretch to close out the season – and with four key members of the roster out, there's no telling what bettors can expect from an undermanned Purdue squad.
LSU vs. Purdue Over/Under
The Citrus Bowl total ranges between 55.5 and 56.5 at the major sportsbooks, though we should see more of a consensus by kickoff.
The Tigers boasted a 7-6 O/U mark in 2022, overcoming a spate of early-season Unders by surpassing the total in six of their final seven games. Much of that Over success was due to an invigorated offensive attack that produced 30-plus points five times over that span.
Purdue was a better-than-average Over team, as well, going 8-5 O/U on the campaign. But the Boilermakers have trended in the opposite direction of late with Unders in three of their previous five games, and the absence of several offensive linchpins could give Over bettors pause.
