🔥 Cam Coleman anytime touchdown scorer (+150) ⭐⭐⭐

Cam Coleman ended last season on fire, scoring six touchdowns in his final three games. Three of those scores came against Texas A&M and Alabama, two teams that were ranked in the top 15 when the Tigers played them.

Entering his sophomore season, Coleman will have a new quarterback throwing to him, as Jackson Arnold transfers in from Oklahoma. While there will undoubtedly be growing pains with Arnold, who only averaged 5.7 yards per attempt last year, the Bears gave up over three touchdowns per game last season, so there will be opportunities.

FanDuel has the odds set at +105, implying a 48.78% chance that Coleman scores. That shows just how much value there is in taking +150 at BetMGM, a price that implies a 40% chance of him scoring. A winning $10 bet at BetMGM would profit $15.

⬆️ Damari Alston Over 51.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best Auburn vs. Baylor Player Prop Bets: College Football Week 1 Odds & Expert Picks
Pictured: Auburn Tigers running back Damari Alston runs the ball into the end zone as I make my best Auburn vs. Baylor player props. Photo by Jake Crandall/ Advertiser / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images.

With Jarquez Hunter off to the NFL, Damari Alston is the lead back for Auburn entering the season. Last year, he carried the ball only 52 times, but he averaged 5.3 yards per carry. And while he’ll be competing with Jeremiah Cobb for touches, he nearly doubled the amount Cobb received last year.

Alston starts the season with a great matchup against a defense that allowed 156.6 rushing yards per game last year, which ranked 70th in the nation. As always, it’s a new season, so the Bears’ run defense could be better, but to me, Alston is being undervalued in this matchup.

Our best college football betting sites all feature this prop with the total set at 51.5, and FanDuel is offering slightly better odds than the others, at -114. This implies a 53.27% chance that Alston hits the Over. A winning $10 bet would profit $8.77.

⬇️ Sawyer Robertson Under 247.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐

Best Auburn vs. Baylor Player Prop Bets: College Football Week 1 Odds & Expert Picks

Last season, Sawyer Robertson threw for 3,071 yards, 28 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. However, he was far from guaranteed to have a big game when he stepped on the field. Against Houston, he threw for just 204 yards and three interceptions, and against Colorado, he managed just 148 yards.

The reason I highlight these two games is that both defenses finished in the top 30 in passing yards allowed per game last year. And while the Tigers were slightly worse, they allowed just 213.8 passing yards per game, playing most of their games against solid SEC offenses.

Robertson hit this Over in seven games last season, but this is the type of defense that could rattle him. The odds suggest he has a 53.27% chance of hitting this Under. Though I wish the payout for a $10 bet were better than $8.77, he won’t hit this total.

How do college football player props work?

Player props are wagers on individual performances rather than the outcome of the game. Common props include passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, and touchdown scorers. For example, if a QB’s passing yards line is set at 250.5, you can bet the Over (251-plus yards) or Under (250 or fewer yards). You can also bet on if a specific player will score a touchdown in the entire game, the first or last touchdown, and more.
