Watney was listed at +65000 to win the Byron Nelson at FanDuel Sportsbook, and the 41-year-old American has missed four consecutive cuts.
His odds to win the event were even longer than Rich Strike’s to win the Kentucky Derby last weekend.
Watney’s best finish of the season was tying for second at the Sanderson Farms Championship in October, and his only other top-25 result was at the Arnold Palmer Invitation, as he tied for 20th at Bay Hill.
The five-time winner on the PGA Tour has made the cut in nine of 19 events this season and turned it into $962,232 in earnings. It’s a respectable return, but it’s also a far cry from Watney’s career-best showing in 2011 when he cashed out $5,290,673.
