A huge announcement from one of the best sports betting apps.

Sportsbook operator BetMGM is making changes to its app as competition increases in the online sports betting market. With DraftKings and FanDuel dominating the space, BetMGM is currently in the third position and is looking to narrow the gap by improving speed, functionality, and features. The new updates will be available before the football season, confirmed the company.

According to the New York Post, the changes will focus on faster navigation, smoother scrolling, and new betting options designed to match customer demand.

“This is the fastest, most user-friendly, and best product we have ever offered,” Adam Greenblatt, Chief Executive Officer at BetMGM, said. “Every detail was designed with players in mind. By blending years of customer feedback with the ingenuity of our product development team, we’ve built a premium sports betting app with a level of detail and insight that sets BetMGM apart.”

A significant addition is the inclusion of live same-game parlay bets, a feature already standard at rivals DraftKings, FanDuel, and many other best live betting sites. The update gives BetMGM a foothold in a market segment that has grown popular with players who want to place multiple wagers while games are in progress.

The app also introduces a new wheel-scrolling feature in the “correct score” betting market, allowing users to browse potential outcomes more efficiently.

Another change comes to the loyalty program system. Users will now see the exact number of rewards points they collect with each bet placed, a move intended to make the program more transparent and competitive with Fanatics Sportsbook’s highly promoted FanCash system.

This upgrade aims to modernize the platform at a critical moment, with the NFL season around the corner. The company also hopes the revamp will not only retain existing customers but will also attract new ones, and you should make sure to sign up using a BetMGM bonus code to take full advantage of the new features.

BetMGM is aligning itself to be more competitive, but whether these upgrades are enough to disrupt DraftKings and FanDuel’s lead remains to be seen.

More sportsbooks look to upgrade

As BetMGM is working on app upgrades, ESPN BET, in partnership with PENN Entertainment, has unveiled “FanCenter,” a new feature integrating fantasy sports with its betting app. Users who link their ESPN accounts will see fantasy rosters automatically imported, with player insights, Over/Under props, and stats tailored to their teams.

“We’ve been focused on increasing the visibility of ESPN BET across the ESPN ecosystem, such as showcasing odds in stories and box scores and expanding the availability of markets within the ESPN app to include player and game props,” Aaron LaBerge, Chief Technology Officer and Head of Interactive at PENN Entertainment, told the New York Post. “Now we’re extending that connectivity to the fantasy product with a really innovative feature, tapping into the massive ESPN fantasy userbase and streamlining the process for players to double down on their rosters with just a few taps.”

The update also introduces a “Fantasy Bet Builder,” which allows users to build bets based on their fantasy team. ESPN Fantasy recently set a record with 13 million users, underscoring the app’s broad reach.
