5 Wide Receivers to Watch

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys

The clear No. 1 target in the high-powered Dallas offense, Lamb is on the brink of superstardom.

Or, maybe he isn’t.

The third-year wideout will be the focus of opposing secondaries in 2022 and will need to show he can beat consistent double-team coverages to take the next step many are expecting. Quarterback Dak Prescott is proven, and the offensive line projects to be one of the better units again this season, so all that’s left is for Lamb to cash in as the go-to vertical weapon for the Cowboys.

Top Lamb Props

Over 7.5 Receiving Touchdowns (-110 DraftKings)

Over 1150.5 Receiving Yards (-115 Caesars)

Over 1175.5 Receiving Yards (-120 DraftKings)

Over 1200.5 Receiving Yards (-112 FanDuel)

Elijah Moore, New York Jets

The 34th overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft led the Jets in receiving yards and touchdowns as a rookie across just 11 games, and now he’s eyeing improved production in his second season.

The quarterback situation remains a concern, though. Fellow rookie Zach Wilson looked overwhelmed at the professional level, and his 55.6 completion percentage was last among qualified signal callers.

If a big year 2 jump is coming from Moore, he’s going to need Wilson to also take a second-year leap, as backup quarterbacks Joe Flacco and/or Mike White aren’t likely the answer. Suiting up for more than 11 games is also a must for Moore.

Top Moore Props

Over 4.5 Receiving Touchdowns (-120 DraftKings)

Over 800.5 Receiving Yards (-115 DraftKings)

Over 825.5 Receiving Yards (-115 Caesars)

JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kansas City Chiefs

Still just 25 years old, Smith-Schuster joins the prolific Kansas City offense and will catch passes from four-time Pro Bowl signal caller Patrick Mahomes. It should prove to be a noticeable-to-enormous upgrade from the 2021 Steelers attack that was grounded by now-retired quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s immobility and diminished arm strength.

Smith-Schuster has also already posted some impressive statistical seasons with career-high marks of 111 receptions for 1,426 yards as a sophomore, and he also scored a personal-high nine touchdowns during the 2020 campaign.

Wide receiver Tyreek Hill leaving the offense in KC opens up 159 targets, and you can count on Smith-Schuster taking claim to a significant chunk of them. The first-year Chief also has the added motivation of being on a one-year, prove-it contract.

Top Smith-Schuster Props

Over 6.5 Receiving Touchdowns (+100 DraftKings)

Over 750.5 Receiving Yards (-120 DraftKings)

Over 800.5 Receiving Yards (-115 Caesars)

Gabriel Davis, Buffalo Bills

Davis showcased his upside with a four-touchdown, 201-receiving-yard showing in the AFC Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City last year, and he’s widely viewed as a player on the rise entering the 2022 campaign.

With superstar quarterback Josh Allen throwing his way, and established wide receiver Stefon Diggs requiring ample attention from opposing defenses, Davis is positioned to build on last season’s breakout playoff game.

Remember, he was buried on the depth chart for most of his first two seasons and still scored 13 touchdowns on just 125 targets while averaging 16.4 yards per catch. Davis stands to see a sizable uptick in opportunities in 2022.

Top Davis Props

Over 7.5 Receiving Touchdowns (-112 FanDuel)

Over 850.5 Receiving Yards (-112 FanDuel)

Over 875.5 Receiving Yards (-115 Caesars)

Marquise Brown, Arizona Cardinals

Currently nursing a hamstring injury sustained during a training session, Brown is expected to be fully healthy for Week 1 and open the season as the No. 1 target for the Cardinals with fellow wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins suspended for the first six games of the year.

Brown racked up 1,008 receiving yards on 91 receptions last season, and he has 21 touchdowns through his first three years in the league, so the speedster projects to be a good fit for head coach Kilff Kingsbury’s air-raid offense.

Now, Brown just needs to return to training camp sooner than later to continue developing chemistry with quarterback Kyler Murray.

Top Brown Props

Over 6.5 Receiving Touchdowns (+100 DraftKings)

Over 875.5 Receiving Yards (-112 FanDuel)

Over 895.5 Receiving Yards (-130 DraftKings)
