If not for rain, there's a decent chance Petrova takes out Pova. If not for rain, there's a very good chance that Bartoli takes out Pova. That being said, I get the weird feeling that Pova gets the upset. I am afraid to touch this match. I am going against logic, and I'm thinking Pova ML and under is the play even though Azarenka ML and over is more "logical".Comment -

I know you never underestimate a champion, but Azarenka has crushed her in two hard court meetings this season. Sharapova did exact some revenge in Stuttgart on clay. Overall though if you look at their recent hard court meetings, Sharapova has struggled. Azarenka has been able to pick apart her 2nd serve and generally put pressure on her serve. Sharapova obviously has still struggled with her serve this tournament at times which is why she was down big on both her last two matches. She can't afford to do that again. I don't expect a lopsided match like their last couple on this surface, but if Azarenka controls her own serve and gets lots of looks at Maria's 2nd ... I expect her to advance.Comment -

Pova was playing two players playing out of their mind. I would hardly say those matches reflected poorly on her. In fact it showed her perseverance. I'll probably take Pova small, but I think the line is about where it should be so I don't see value in either side.Comment -
I'm on Azarenka. Wouldn't be surprised if I lost but the court suits her, the surface suits her, Maria's been df'ing like crazy and Aza handled Stosur's serves so she should definitely be able to handle the 1st serves Maria manages to get in. It's the WTA though so who the f knows.

sharapova misses first serve a lot, so az with an advantage there getting a lot slower second serve to handle. also lots of free points with pova double faults. az pretty good about keeping the ball in play until she tries to smash one on a line.Comment -
