I think it may be because you can get inflated odds relative to his ranking or perceived standing and some people can't resist. I can. Once bitten.

Reminded myself why I black listed hot Ana, double faults in double figures, I guess she'll never change - her ball toss reared its ugly head tonight, it's amazing - she's been on a tour for years and it's still all over the place. She can break anyone but then just gifts it straight back with erratic serving, parlayed it with the llodra dolgo over, guess thats toast.

I dont even know what I did taking Simon. Reread the preview I did and 9 times out of 10 I would take Berlocq at that price. Too much reading into that one. Stupid stuupid pick

Trying both of these, think they split at worst.
ATP Memphis: Kubot +135 Kubot blogged recently about having to change racket companies due to his old one going out of business I believe. The one he tested out, he started using before Rotterdamn and he said it added some pop to his serve. The results look encouraging as he started using this I think going into Rotterdam. He's beat Dolgopolov and Levine and nearly knocked out Nieminen since this test period began. Petzschner knocked off a pretty hot player in Benneteau, but Benneteau may have been a little gassed from San Jose and travel for Davis Cup the week prior to that. Petz is not particularly steady any longer in singles and this surface is still not a great one to him.
Becker +115 This is the match where you find out if Malisse really played that well or if Roddick is just that far off kilter right now. Based on what I've seen from Malisse last year and early this year, I think it's more of Roddick being a beaten mule right now. For me, this is a match of similar players - potential for big serves and forehands, but consistency on-serve sometimes lacks for both. That being said, I'll side with plus money and someone in Becker who seems to be out to prove himself back from injury whereas Malisse's motivation I still highly question at this stage.

Donkey Ride over. Not sure of the issue why he retired, but a day late and a dollar short of my fade on him when I took Beck.

I don't particularly like Sweeting's game. He doesn't have very good weapons for the tall guy that he is. You'd think he'd have better power overall, but he doesn't show it consistently if he has it. Stepanek isn't unbeatable, but I don't think Sweeting is going to win unless Stepanek has a really poor day.

Looks like Monaco might kill that parlay early. Fat Dave rollin' him so far. Kubot at least looking good to win potentially, up a set and a break.

+4 seems decent t-var. Almagro is so fukkin' good in these South American clay courters, I think he'll win, but it might be tight.

Man I have not kept up with the women outside of the Dubai tournament. Memphis & Monterrey had too many fringe players for my liking.

Parlay: Del Potro + Isner [+128] Del Potro is up against Gasquet. DelPo was in a battle yesterday with Davydenko, but you could see the thing that is going to be tough for Gasquet to match and that is DelPo's power/serve. 16 aces and no breaks, that is tough to beat. Gasquet has cruised against lesser competition here, but that's about his track record on this indoor surface. He beats who he should beat, but routinely comes up short against the top tier players. Tough to see Gasquet winning if Del Potro is serving well. Isner draws Melzer in Memphis. Isner did not play well against Young, but the bottom line is that on this surface - serve is King and the King is John Isner. Even though he was broken once, Isner still pumped out 22 aces in route to a 7-6, 6-4 win. Melzer struggled through three to down Dodig, much the same as he did against Istomin. Melzer is a gritty competitor, but if Isner's serve continues to stay in its comfort zone - he's difficult to beat, especially if Melzer's serve offers up a break or two.
WTA Dubai: Jankovic +175 Jankovic has been solid this week, both on-serve and in her return game. Radwanksa wiped the court with Lisicki yesterday, playing nearly flawless while Lisicki forced errors all over the place. Ag-Rad has played excellent tennis this year, only losing to Azarenka on three occassions - but I don't think she's anywhere near unbeatable as her first two shaky rounds showed in Dubai. If Jankovic can hold her nerve on serve, she rates a shot here with what looks like a more even match that the price indicates.
