I'm (nervously) tailing on JCF; I think he's too good here for Kei, but I have this nagging voice in the back of my mind.
Get it JCF!

No, not really considering the guy was 0-3 and his only win this year was in Davis Cup play.

Think something is definitely not right with Ferrero, be it mental, physical or what have you. Nishikori handed him the 1st set early and he could not take advantage. We'll see if he keeps battling in the 2nd, but not a very good set for him [5-7].

Still scrappin' ... some easier holds this set.
Dimitrov is still just a waste of space. Kid cannot seem to harness all his skill into a consistent match.

it looks to me that jcf is just going thru the motions and staying around flat footed alot of times while the jap is moving in and kills some shots

WTA Dubai: Benesova -120 She's got the the head-2-head edge over Cibulkova with the three wins coming on hard surfaces. That includes a straight sets whipping late in 2011. Could be the lefty magic for Benesova. She has run through qualis here in good shape, so she's got the match prep edge too. Cibulkova has been pretty poor so far with a 2-5 mark in WTA events.

hey EP, how do you feel about the -3.5 (+125) for Bachinger over Olivetti? The +125 looks nice for a short spread but I don't know anything about Olivetti besides what the stats say (done well in qualifying this year but hasn't played anybody worthwhile, only 21 and 2nd yr pro). I know Bachinger is flaky and not a world beater but he should get it done, no?

Bartoli tries very hard, but her physical form is poor. So she might get crushing wins or lose, big unknown. If I had to bet her I would bet she wins 1st set

Yesterday Olivetti won 39 on 40 points with first serve, and 65 on 80 in total.
He served 26 aces and conceeded only one break point in a long three sets match to his opponent; ok he was playing Jouan who is not a phenomenon, but those stats are pretty impressive for me. I'm not say Bachinger won't lose, but maybe it will be a close match; I see a tiebreak here, can be something like 7-6 6-4 and Bachinger could won the match but lose with the handicap and that would be a mock.

Wow, those are impressive serving stats. Regardless of opponent being able to consistently get your first serve in always bodes well. I'll probably stay away since I don't know either too well or put a small amount on Olivetti for fun. Thanks for the info.

ATP Marseille: Kunitsyn +115 Logic would dictate that Bautista-Agut as the favorite here is the play based on his run through qualis here and overall form. I'm looking though and I cannot find that "signature" win for Batutista-Agut on this surface or for that matter, a main draw win at an ATP level event. He's done well at the Challenger level on this surface and in qualis for ATP events, but has not yet broken through. Kunitsyn certainly isn't anything to write home about on the surface, but I've seen him perform at this level against better competition and hold up. I'll throw out his putrid performance against Youzhny in Rotterdam because it came on the heels of Davis Cup play and was against a fellow countryman. The Davis Cup matches were a far better indicator for me as Kunitsyn battled Melzer to five sets on the surface and beat Haider-Maurer in three sets in a dead rubber. I've backed Bautista-Agut plenty a time, but let's see if this is the right read or not today.
ATP Marseille: Beck +450 Interesting to note that Davydenko has used Marseille as a good flop spot in his career with just one win here in seven tries. Some have been tough match-ups, some have not. After a long week in Rotterdam where he might have tweaked some sort of leg injury, potential here for him to save up for Dubai next week. Beck isn't useless on this surface. He showed that in the Challenger Finals last year. Let's also say before last week in Rotterdam, no one in their right mind would have laid anything close to this price on the Donkey, so I think a tad bit of an overreaction here as well. Half a unit that Donkey goes in the shitter here.

EP, why don't you play spreads? Isn't Beck +5 like a good option if follow your reasoning?

If he's not tanking, Davydenko should beat Beck and could beat him easily if he plays like last week. The spread is carrying higher chalk @ -135, so for me, not what I want to spend. Rather take the big dog line for less risk.

ATP Buenos Aires
Kavcic +205
Ramos +135
I think one of these guys gets the win today. Kavcic is up against Andreev who has ripped through qualis with ease. Andreev has been playing the "Golden Swing" on clay here with good results in qualis, but then losing mostly in the main draw. Last wee, Ramos beat him in two tight tie breaks. At Vina Del Mar, Monaco destroyed him in straights. Kavcic lost his first clay match in 2012 to Chardy in Sao Paulo. He was decent against an in-form player, so he could see some improvement this week and he's showed some chops on this surface. Ramos had a great week in Sao Paulo and will look to carry that over. He could be poised for a big season on clay after a solid 2011 campaign. Chela is the opposition. Home standing Argie will be tough, but Chela has looked vulnerable at times this season. If Ramos brings a similar serve to last week and solid aggressive play, he has a shot to KO one of last year's finalist at this event.
