She's truly injured. And as much as it sucks for bettors, she was finally smart and realised that if she kept playing, she could kiss any hope of the French goodbye. And she has a somewhat decent shot at winning there considering the apparent 'form' of the other top players.

The trainer tried to convince her to quit and she didn't listen at first. You have no hope out there if you're in severe agony and waiting for pills to kick in. Our bodies just don't metabolise them that quickly for it to make a difference, unless the pain is slight and you can hold on until they start to take effect.

I'm the first one to bitch at these chicks as I mainly bet the women and I've seen it all but this time I 100% believe it was legit. There was no need for her to retire in the match up in the 2nd. And no, I don't believe it was fixed. Not this time.

The problem isn't betting on her, it comes when betting against her. A lot of books will cancel the bet if one player retires, so when you go against Azarenka and she is headed to a loss and quits, you don't win your bet at these books.
