#317Well damn. Schiavone couldn't close Marino out. 5-5 in the 2nd. Hell if she can get to a tie break, might still win the handicap even if she loses in straights. Definitely broke the Tuesday jinx today. Hell it's Humpday now, let's fukk the bookies Canadian girl.Comment -

#321Handicap cashed, now it's just house money. Gotta give this girl credit for not giving up. Looked bleak in the 2nd set and she battled through it. Schiavone can choke on her own serve again and finish this off in style.Comment -

#322Unfortunately, I layed the big Canadian when Schia was serving for the 2nd set - which is going to cost me a couple of hundred in lost profits. All in all an enjoyable day though - a couple of big wins, a couple of big losses and as my girlfriend just reminded me i´ve just stayed up all night for no money.
Good times though...Comment -

#323Great fight from the Canadian. Glad I played the handicap to negate the moneyline loss. Doesn't it seem like Federer plays one of these brain fart 5 setters about every other Slam now? Little disappointed in Dimitrov. He had some chances in the 1st set. Wawrinka was down 0-40 on serve trying to serve the match out at 6-5 and Dimitrov let him off the hook. Think that broke his spirit. Needs more seasoning. Interested to see if Berankis fares better - he has the experience at Slams that Dimitrov did not. Nalbandian will be very tough.Comment -

#324Hi EaglesPhan!! Whats your thoughts on Radwanska today. I am really confident in her winning easily today!! I think the line doesn't reflect the talent here, just like Petrova in first round.Comment -

#325Definite gap in class from Radwanska to Martic. Little sheepish because she had some sort of back problem in the Krumm match and had to rally from 1-4 down in the 3rd ... Can maybe forgive her since it was her first match of 2011 I believe. I think she's useful in a parlay. Wouldn't bite on -240 by itself though.Comment -

#3261.19.11 AUSTRALIAN OPEN
DEUCE
I THINK I THINK when looking at where to start the DEUCE today - we go lefty on this mutha sucka. I started on the ladies side where there are some match-ups that I THINK favor one over the other, but the price by itself would not. Start with Kvitova. She draws Chakvetadze. Kvitova is in fine form as she won the Brisbane tournament to start the year and had no issues in her opener. Chakvetadze was also solid in her win which came on the heels of a pair of losses to start 2011. The Russian is adequate on hard courts, but outside of dropping down to the ITF level last year to win a pair of tournaments, her main level WTA results on this surface are average at-best. Kvitova meanwhile looks as if her best days still lie ahead of her. The surprise Wimbledon semifinalist in 2010 has the power game that should be suited toward hard court success. Being a lefty always helps to give her opponent something new to look at and I THINK if Kvitova serves to her capabilities, she moves through to the 3rd round. Pair her with Lopez. Felicity? Yes. Felicity of the long, flowing Spanish locks. he draws Tomic and I THINK experience and again some lefty luck could be in the cards for a winner today. Tomic dispatched an out-of-form Jeremy Chardy with ease in his opener. It's the third straight year Tomic has advanced to the 2nd round here. He has yet to make that breakthrough, although he gave Cilic a battle in 5 sets last year. The year before, it was another big serving lefty - Gilles Muller - who dispatched Tomic in 4. Tomic has not seen many lefties in his young career and will have to cope with that and the raw power Lopez can bring when interested. He looked plenty interested and strong with 17 aces vs. Falla. If Lopez can get his 1st serve in at a good clip and slap his forehand in for winners, he should survive the Aussie. Parlay the southpaws at +146.
JANKOVIC-PENG OVER 21.5 [-105]
These two are no strangers having met seven times. Jankovic has dominated the series at 6-1, but they have not met since 2009 and Jankovic is a drastically different player now. Jankovic again showed the good and bad to her game in her opener. Crushing Kudryavtseve 6-0 in the 1st set, but nearly blowing the tie break in the 2nd. Without a solid serve, she'll always be prone to being broken, but her defense allows her to be one of those players who can break right back. Peng has flashed some of the best form of her career to start 2011 with semifinal appearances in Auckland and Hobart. She had to work overtime to oust Bondarenko, winning 8-6 in the 3rd in her opener. Peng has already played six three set matches out of nine this year. Without dominant weapons, I expect lots of break opps between these two and some topsy turvy sets. Could get done in two, but I THINK this one has three sets potential to make it a real legit shot.
RAONIC +169
Riding the Canadian till he drops. He draws Llodra today in what should be a battle of big serves. Thing that sticks out is I THINK Raonic's is much bigger and perhaps better at the younger age. He offered no breaks to a pretty decent returner in Phau in his first round match and crushed 27 aces. Llodra have 10 break opps out to Chela, but saved seven. Still, I THINK his service game has more shakiness to it at times right now. Llodra is also a much better player on a controlled, indoor surface. I THINK the elements bug him sometimes as evidenced by his .500 record on outdoor hard courts. And despite his veteran status, he's only been this far three times now in 11 trips to Melbourne, never making it to the 3rd round. So long as Raonic keeps his service game powerful and consistent, he has every shot in the world of scoring another win.

#331Raonic wins the 1st set tie break. He's playing BIG. Lots of winners and aces. Think that was important for him to draw first blood an have the belief. If he can maintain anything close to this, one slip up by Llodra on his serve and the set's Raonic's for the taking.Comment -

#350MENS DOUBLES: MOODIE-NORMAN -165
Obscurity eh? This is a line that just stuck out to me as veteran tag team Wesley Moodie & Dick Norman draw the one-time partnership of Malisse & Jamie Murray. Malisse-Murray made their tag debut in Chennai and were drubbed in straights. Moodie-Norman have a brilliant record at Slams during the partnership the last two seasons. They have made the QFs or better in six of the last eight Slams. The two they missed? The Aussie Open the last two years ... because for some reason they did not team up for the event! Perhaps they finally figured it out as they will team up here this year. Murray has tagged mainly with Adam Marray of late and has been in a bunch of doubles play at Slams before despite his young age. He's never won a doubles match outside of Wimbledon. It's the edge of the price I like to play and I THINK Moodie-Norman may start slow since this is their first match ... but in the end, this team has too much Slam experience and should pass to the next round.
