#392That Wawrinka-Monfils match is a bit tough to get a handle on. Seems like almost everyone likes Wawrinka. Monfils certainly has the game to win, but I THINK if he doesn't get off to a quick start that it could be a quick match. Wawrinka has been pretty solid so far this year on this surface. I'm not playing anything in the late matches tonight, but my leans are as such:
Wawrinka-Monfils UNDER
Nishikori Wins 1st Set Prop
Venus-Petkovic - NO PLAYComment -

#393Thank you, EP36! Really wasn´t sure about Robredo until I read your post earlier. So I had Sevastova, Almagro plus Robredo -----> nice winComment -

#394I was surprised Almagro dominated like that. Thought it was going to be a tougher fight, but he's a little under rated in these hard court Slams when he plays a similar player where he's not going to be pushed to be a complete player. His serve can carry him against plenty of people.
Some good looking matches tomorrow. Melzer-Baghdatis, Dologpolov-Tsonga, Stosur-Kvitova. Tomorrow's the night I may stay up to watch the "Australian prime time" matches since I can sleep on Saturday.Comment -

#3981.21.11 AUSTRALIAN OPEN
DEUCE
Droppin' the DEUCE to start the action. I THINK a solid spot to start is with the young Russian, Pavlyuchenkova. She's up against Benesova who struck the upset over Kirilenko last round. Something was fishy with that match though as the line dropped heavily prior to the match in favor of Benesova who is just below .500 on this surface lifetime. Her dominance in scorelines in the 1st two rounds may trap some bettors into taking another stab, but the Russian is the talent on this surface. Pavlyuchenkova already has a couple titles on this surface and has started off 2011 with a 5-2 mark on hard courts. She'll need to get her 1st serve in at a higher percentage, but if she does then she has all it takes to win this. Pair her with Youzhny. Yes, it's a Double Rooskie Deuce! As much as I love the hard hitting game of Milos Raonic, I THINK this is where he exits after a great showing. Youzhny inexplicably dropped off after bursting out to a two set lead over Kavcic last round, before finding himself and rolling in the 5th set. Raonic has not dropped a set and has only been broken once thus far. His big serve is a powerful weapon along with huge groundstrokes. Youzhny though has seen it all and has beaten players with similar styles on the biggest of stages - Isner last year at the US Open sticks out. Raonic is very reliant still on his serve to get him through as evidenced by four tie breakers in six sets in Melbourne. He's won all four breakers, but comes up against Youzhny who knows how to cope with those pressure situations. I THINK Raonic will rate a shot if he can hold that serve, but his margin for error is much slimmer than Youzhny's and I think the Russian's better all-around game gets him through in a tough four or five setter. Parlay at -115.
KVITOVA +163
This was one of the ladies I thought going into this tournament could surprise with a deep run and she'll earn that run if she can get by Stosur to start. Being a lefty is a big boon to Kvitova's chances as Stosur's coach has admitted they struggled to find someone competent to help train for this match. Kvitova hits the ball flat which should keep the balls out of Stosur's wheelhouse if she can connect consistently. Both have been solid here this week, but Kvitova I THINK has the extra confidence of having won the Brisbane tournament this season and not having the pressure of winning "at home" where Stosur has never made it past the 4th round. For as solid as Stosur has been the past few years, she has shown some inconsistency on this surface. Both can be dominant on serve, so expect the one who is shakier in that department to be watching the rest of the tournament on TV.Comment -

#401Think the prices are about right on that one. Lots of people I think like Peer because she beat Pennetta twice on this surface in 2010. I hate Peer because she can be locked in a zone and beat quality opponents on this surface or she can have a weak ass serve and get killed. Pretty much a coin flip I think.Comment -

#403No clue about that one. I originally liked the UNDER 31.5, but I don't know GGL enough to really know enough. Murray has looked great though. GGL cannot afford to start how he did against Schwank though. He's lucky Schwank is a schmuck because I think Schwank had him 3-0 or so in the 1st and wound up losing the set. You go down 3-0 Murray, you might not win a game in that set.Comment -

#407MEN'S DOUBLES: PHAU-TIPSAREVIC +120
Earmarked this one after being on the wrong end of the opener for this duo's opponents today in Xavier Malisse & Jamie Murray. Malisse-Murray crushed the veteran duo of Norman-Moodie who I wrongly tipped to win. For me, it was a case of the old men simply not being prepared/sucking ass more-so than Malisse-Murray being totally dominant. Phau-Tipsarevic won against an outclassed combo Ljubicic-Zovko, converted several break opps and only offering up two break opps. I THINK Malisse-Murray deserve credit for dismantling a pretty good tag duo, but one that had not played a match yet in 2011. Phau-Tipsarevic are not a normal pairing, but they showed decent chemistry in their opener. Murray is the best doubles player amongst this foursome, but Tipsarevic showed some ability in doubles in 2010 with a couple finals appearances with Troicki & Lu as partners. The combo of his power and Phau's speed is intriguing. I THINK Malisse-Murray are getting a lot of respect from the bookies for their first round win. So getting some plus money for what probably should be a pick 'em type match makes sense to try for me.

#410Bad time for Youzhny to suck. Serves held easy by both guys and then Youzhny blows it. Didn't expect Youzhny would win in straights, so this is not surprising - this is going to be a battle. Don't be surprised if Youzhny wins a lopsided set next. Youngsters have that habit of losing concentration when they get a big set win early. Well that and I need it to happen.
