Yeah I mean this is what I am saying. The kid deserves credit because he's not getting down on himself, but Youzhny has done what no one else could do in breaking him, but then he can't hold for his life. Raonic is just hitting big and it's working again.

#430Well good for Raonic. Youzhny did not deserve to win today, played like a retard. You break this kid's serve five of six times, you should be up in the match. Raonic 64 winners, 54 unforced errors, 31 aces. He's pretty much the prototype for hit big and go for it. If it's on, it's like Tipsarevic at the US Open against Roddick. Next match should be one of the most interesting to me - Ferrer likely vs. Raonic. One of the best retrievers on tour against one of the biggest serves.Comment -

#431PENNETTA-PEER OVER 21.5 [-110]
Sat on this for awhile, but the way these two have gone in their head-2-head meetings, a three set match seems like it might be possible here. I THINK both are superb defensive players who can have service yips. I'd expect plenty of break opps here and momentum swings. Three of the five career meetings have gone to three sets. The two that did not make it were tight 6-4, 6-4 matches. You could try and split hairs here on which one of these girls is going to step up today ... I won't because I THINK it's going to be a barn burner and a potential OVER.

#441Well I waited all night and got Kvitova at +180 now. So boom goes the dynamite.
Said in Shari's thread, don't automatically think because someone played earlier that they have a disadvantage. I honestly don't know enough about mixed doubles because they don't play them except for Slams for the most part. Dlouhy is a solid doubles player, but I don't know anything about Groth's doubles record.Comment -

Kvitova b-yotch. Watch for her to crash the party again for a possible semifinal appearance. Another example as well why line movement in tennis isn't something you need to factor in. Cap your match and pick your pick.Comment -

#4531.22.11 AUSTRALIAN OPEN
DEUCE
I THINK when crafting the DEUCE today, I looked at men's doubles first. The duo of Kubot-Marach has a favorable match-up against the Italians, Starace-Bracciali. Kubot-Marach staggered out of the gate a bit in 2011 with a couple of tough super breaker losses in the Sydney and Brisbane tournaments. This is a team with solid Slam experience though as they have teamed up in ten Slams together. They made the quarters of both the US and French last season and the 4th round in Melbourne in 2010. They made the semis in 2009. Starace-Bracciali won an indoor hard court tournament late in the season in 2010, but it was lacking in solid teams. They are experienced, but more suited to clay and that has shown in their choice of tournaments to play and results in the few outdoor hard court tourneys they play. Kubot-Marach have been serving well with very few break opps given, contrasting the Italians who have offered up 15 in their first two matches but seen only four of them converted. If Kubot-Marach convert break opps today, they should win. Pair with Kuznetsova. The Russian should have plenty of confidence after beating Henin for just the third time in 19 career meetings. She draws the often talked about injury, Schiavone. Schiavone has been able to survive here in spite of her leg issue, but Kuznetsova's power game has what it takes to trouble her - much like the young Canadian Marino did a couple rounds ago. Kuznetsova must serve well to start and she needs to keep the forehand errors in-check. Still, I THINK this is the opponent to put Schiavone on the shelf after a warrior-like work rate through to this point. Pair at -105.
AZARENKA +100
Azarenka and Li pits two very different styles. Li loves to use her speed and footwork on defense to run down shots and win points by frustrating her opponent. Azarenka is more from the big hitter school, at least with her forehand which is her best weapon. Neither has had much trouble to this point. Their last head-2-head meeting came last Summer in Montreal where Azarenka won rather easily. The thing I THINK that Azarenka must jump on is Li's serve. Despite getting in a high percentage on 1st serve, Li doesn't always win a high percentage of those points. Azarenka has to like where she's at right now, playing good tennis and NOT being talked about. This year there is no Serena to beat her, it's all mental I THINK. She has the game to beat Li, but she's got to bring her lunch pail and prepared to do work today. The weather is going to be warmer today, so she knows going into this that people are going to be talking up her retirement vs. Serena. I THINK Azarenka must use that as something to pump herself up. F the world so-to-speak. I THINK she is focused to turn her fortunes around to start this year off after a tough go in 2010. If she can keep her errors and frustration level down, I THINK she rates a chance to advance.
SEVASTOVA +6 [-130]
Just a hunch play here. They played last year in the Fed Cup and Wozniacki dumped the Latvian, 6-2, 6-2. However, Sevastova is playing much better tennis a year later. Her ascent began late last year in Beijing when she knocked off Stosur and Cibulkova and then played Na Li tough in losing the final, 7-6, 6-3. Wozniacki has had a fairly easy time of it in Melbourne, but outside of her 2nd round route ... she has only won by five games in each of the other two matches. Sevastova has a solid forehand and a fairly solid serve. If she can serve well early and not get down to Wozniacki, I THINK she's going to keep it fairly close even in likely losing this match.
