My general rule of thumb on single plays is not to go over -170. I use anything over that in a parlay. It's whatever you're comfortable with personally I don't like risking that much on one play. I do like him to win today, but I'd look for soeone to partner him with in a parlay.Comment -

I THINK the total I'm starting tonight off with is the OVER 22.5 with Ferrer and Kohlschreiber. You've got the pop from the German vs. the returning prowess of the Spaniard. Both have looked okay, but not over powering so far. Ferrer might be forgiven as his match was his first of 2011. Kohlschreiber has had some fits where his serve has not remained consistent. Yesterday, his 2nd serve biting him. I THINK this could be a back and forth affair with both looking for consistent form early on.

Not a ton of thought. He's up against Gulbis and this one should be tight if both serve to their potential. I THINK Gulbis is not worth the price with Stakhovsky maybe serving better so far this tournament. To me, this match based on form is much more even than the price and presents good ole' Uncle Wally [value - hate the actual term so I made my own] on Stakhovsky.

I THINK that the qualifier, Jovanovski, has beaten some impressive opponents in her run to the Sydney semifinals whether they showed up or not ... she did. I THINK Na Li is very good on this surface, but not dominant. That has shown in her last two matches where she's dropped a lop-sided set, but rolled through the other two for wins. I THINK that inconsistent play could yield a nice shot to take Jovanovski on the handicap at +4. Li's serve isn't powerful enough to overwhelm her and Jovanovski has been solid on this surface since late last year when she won a couple of tournaments on the ITF level. I THINK the experience she's gotten against quality players so far in 2011 should help, but she'll need to maintain her focus while Li is running down her shots and making her work for points.

Starting I THINK with the doubles tandem of Srebotnik-Peschke in WTA action. This duo is unbeaten in six matches in 2011 with a title in Auckland last week. They face Jans-Rosolska who did knock off the top seeds in this tournament, but I THINK Srebotnik-Peschke are locked in having dropped just one set and they finally got tested in their last match, winning in the super breaker. Pairing with Bartoli in Hobart. At points, Bartoli can be a tricky shit who flops, but reading her post-match comments after murderizing Safina - she sounded very pleased with her game and movement. With the rain in Hobart, the court conditions should be a little slower as well which I THINK might suit Bartoli who isn't always the picture of athleticism. Vesnina is capable on this surface, but she's not always up for it against Top 20 players. It should be a bit of a battle, but if Bartoli maintains her level from yesterday, I THINK she advances. 1.13.11: DEUCE
I THINK when beginning to look at the DEUCE today, my first stop is David Nalbandian. He's looked solid so far in Auckland and draws Almagro today. Almagro is capable on this surface when his serve is working, but he's lazy otherwise. Nalbandian got a good tune-up for the serve by facing Isner and working past him in straights. If Nalbandian keeps his own serve solid and remains focused [only broken once in 3 matches] then I THINK he will book a spot in the final. Pair him with Ferrer who draws Giraldo. Giraldo has had a nice draw to this point, punking out some of his fellow dirt ballers this week. Ferrer meanwhile has been able to work into shape with two three set wins, including a win over Kohlschreiber yesterday. Ferrer has proven to be tough on this surface and I THINK he's got an experience edge over Giraldo to take this one. Parlay at -110.

Maybe Li on the handicap, but Clijsters record on hard courts and finals vs. Li's is tough to look past overall. She's 6 for 6 in hard court finals since she came back in 2009.Comment
