#37Excellent information in this thread. One thing I'd like to add is that if you're serious about betting tennis, don't expect to get the most useful information for free, like you can do in the Big Four North American sports. Tennis involves multiple tournaments every week featuring easily 100 different players, and the people who go to the work to compile all the information you need to wager on it wisely tend to charge for it.Originally posted by StraitShooter90% of the guys dont give a shit about your problems..and the other 10 are glad you have them..Comment -

#40like Rogue said, a lot of this stuff doesn't come for free. tennis-insight is pretty good and fairly cheap.
I also don't mind sites like tennis.matchstat.com or livescore.tennis-data.co.uk for free and easy to navigate. each to their own
i have heard AMAZING things about oncourt.info, but never tried it. anyone had a go?
http://www.blog.tradesharktennis.com/forum/tennis/ is (or was) also worth looking at. I haven't for a long time.
i'm not really that serious a tennis bettor like eaglesphan and shari (all the slams and some tourneys from time to time ), but tennis is a sport you really need to do your homework on and the info doesnt just slap you in the face, so i like to think i know where to look and what to do when i have the time.
just a word of warning (not that many of you need any from touts, but you wouldnt really expect to see it much in tennis and its slightly different), you will see a lot of websites and crap about guaranteed profit by tennis trading and a system for trading. most tennis system are like any system - absolute bollox. there is huge money to be made out there by trading - but if you're not with betfair online, its probably too much effort (which is what i realized fairly quickly).Comment -

#41Gee, I use oncourt. Very good and well worth the money if you're committed to betting 40-45 weeks of the year at least. If not, TI is probably your best bet because of the availability of short memberships.
And yes, you're right about tennis systems. Someone asked me awhile ago to look into a few of the major ones as they were considering purchasing one and wanted to know my opinion on which one is best. Simple answer - none. The amount of time and effort you need to expend in order to try to earn a profit is negated if you don't have a huge bankroll to make the profits worthwhile.Comment -

#44This is great advice and knowledge that you're sharing. Personally I believe personal experience is what gives anyone an edge. You can follow someone and learn the basics, but in the long run you need your own philosophy which is different from anyone else.
Recent EX: You hedged your Li Na future by taking Clijsters correct set score 2-0 last night. But my method to hedge my Djokovic future is to wait/risk until he wins the 1st set then hedge against him. I know it's risky but this strategy will only fail if Djoko loses by 3 straight sets. Your method was a little safer but it didn't work out. My method is even riskier but if it works it will be very profitable.Comment -

#45Yeah I was in a tough place with that bloody future because my stats were saying I should take Li at that price. Obviously I wasn't going to put even more money on her and because I only had her at +500, I couldn't lay the chalk on Kim and still cash out for much more than any other person would get taking Li before the match. Which left me with set betting. I had debated taking both the 2-0 and 2-1 but because the prices on either were somewhat crappy, I had to pick one again. Since Kim's only won something like 38% of her Slam matches after losing the first set, I went with the theory that if she loses the first one here the odds are with me that she'll lose the match. Unfortunately it didn't pan out that way obviously but because of my personal situation I can't rely on always being able to call in a live bet when I need to. I was lucky enough though to be able to jump on Kim to win the third about halfway through the second and between that and the prop live betting I was doing I actually ended up better off than if I'd never touched that future bet at all. Everyone has their own way that works for them and as long as people are very careful with live betting, it can be a great tool to help increase profit no matter their tolerance for risk. Best of luck with Djoko tonight!Comment -

biggest thing i can contribute is to find a percent chance of a player winning and find values against the lines....and when you see you have some value bet it right away because i find usually whatever side i want the lines get worseComment -
