I watched it, looks like the fatigue of Lu's previous game, and a foot injury slowed Lu down... but I still can't believe Kohly won, he played pretty rubbish for most of the game...

Nah, it's all good. I ended up dumping a lot on Kohlschrieber right before I went to bed and that more than covered the money I would've won on Pavly if I didn't only get the push. Plus a push isn't bad considering she lost the first set.

Good tennis night which is always nice.

You were actually lucky you were asleep during the Kohly game, I was watching the whole thing and he really looked like he was going to lose the whole time - he was pretty awful until set 3. Added a couple of grey hairs, that's for sure(!)... but in the end a great end to the night.

yeah i'd given up on it! following women is far too stressful, especially when you're following a bloody scoreboard (i wasn't watching). break, 0-40, hold, break, up 40-0, break. bah.

i too dropped a nice amount on kohl.. so another good night on the tennis overall for me too!

was he that bad?? i was following a scoreboard and it seemed he had 100 break points (slight exaggeration) in the first set that he just didn't capitalize on...

He was pretty bad, yes. So many unforced errors and missed opportunities - it wasn't like Lu was playing great either, but Kohly had nothing in the first two sets (apart from the odd ace). He would just play it back from the baseline into the middle and anytime he went for a winner it seemed like he lost the point. Remember we played him as a fairly heavy chalk favourite but even with a foot injury Lu looked like the better player for the majority.

In any case I'm more than happy with the win, it definitely was the right bet

, but Nadal shouldn't have too many problems with this guy next match.

I've seen both Lu's matches this tournament. Is this guy actually good? How much does beating him in a scrappy three-setter say about Kohlschreiber's readiness to face Nadal?

The German's serve was dodgy - but amazingly he came through with an ace at many key points of the match. If he serves just a tad more consistently (read: doesn't choke), Rafa (-5) could be fool's gold and I could see a 7-5 6-4 match.

I'm pretty convinced that Kohlschreiber is ready to grind. But is he outmatched here?

Any thoughts on the late matches? Berdych has won the last 2 meetings against Federer including at Wimbledon. Might Federer want some revenge? I also find the Bartoli/Sharapova match a hard one to figure out. Sharapova is 3-0 lifetime against Bartoli but the last match was 3 years ago. Both women have been playing great as of late. I find the Federer/Berdych match a toss-up and I lean Sharapova.
