#4798Hey Jay!Originally posted by JayRowHey Shari, I'm new to the thread- when do you post most of your plays?
Now that the swing is in North America, I'm posting about an hour before the first match if not a little sooner although I update throughout the night (for me) if I want to add anything else. Today I took my first day off from posting any since I started the thread just to see how I'd do, but I'll be back posting my plays for the Semis.Comment -

Murphy's Law. It seems every time someone posts something like this, the other player gets broken back. If you have a lot of money on Berdych, I hope he comes through for you but giving Fed so many chances to break back may just be the final nail in his coffin.Comment -

#4802Haha...it does doesn't it? No just a small value play. I give Federer a lot of credit here. He battled like the Federer of old. Crowd was just a bit too drunk, however, and I think Berd let it get to him...but hey what do you want on a Friday the 13th? Great match!Comment -

#4804I'm glad you didn't have a lot on him because I was really hoping Fed would pull through and I didn't have a penny on it. It's just nice to see him quiet the 'Fed is dead' talk for at least a little bit. Even if he loses the next one, at least we know the drive to win is still there.Originally posted by RazzzzzorHaha...it does doesn't it? No just a small value play. #4805Why? He plays the winner of Chardy/Djokovic. He should roll Chardy if he is the winner. If it's Djokovic it could go either way. Playing the best players in the world brings out the best in Federer and Djokovic is now #2 in the world which can't sit well with Fed.Originally posted by jjgoldGood call Fed backers but he was somewhat lucky First point in 3rd set tie break was his break Fade him tomorrowComment -

#4806I totally agree Shari. I've actually always liked Federer, still do. I just didn't think he would get past Berd...I saw a good value in Berd so I jumped on it, no biggie. You win some, you lose some. I love watching great tennis nonetheless. It's always great to see ANY athlete compete at THAT level. There's no question Federer still has that fire insideOriginally posted by shari91I'm glad you didn't have a lot on him because I was really hoping Fed would pull through and I didn't have a penny on it. #4812Pauul, she posts in the morning before the matches. First matches for Rogers Cup usually start around 11 a.m. (i have to check the schedule for the semi's too lazy now) Eastern Time. So usually some time before that, probably a couple hours or an hour before.Originally posted by Pauulzcappin

#4816Shari, do you like Nadal against Murray? Current odd Nadal -145, Murray +135 at most of the books. Is this match kind of coin flip 50 50?Comment -

#4817I like Murray against Nadal on hard court.
Taking away the Indian Wells debacle, where the wind was horrific and Nadal coped MUCH better than Murray, Murray seems to have an edge on Nadal. Murray also loves the American hard courts, it's by far his best surface and he has had his best results.
They've faced eachother 7 times on hard.
Murray's 4-3 up, like I said though, the Indian Wells match was a bit of a joke, and the major windy condition suited Nadal's game to a tee.
Apart from the 2nd set against Monfils, Murray has looked so impressive this week, the most impressive in the tournament.Comment -

#4820Andy beat him at the Australian and I'm pretty sure Rafa retired that match if I remember correctly. He wasn't really healthy and the year before he was struggling a bit. I think we have to disregard the head to head between these two and just look at their current forms.Originally posted by YezzirI like Murray against Nadal on hard court.

Murray has been struggling all year while Rafa has completely dominated. Today Kohly gave him a bit of a run only because he was able to attack Rafa's 2nd serve. Murray doesn't attack, he plays defense. Murray's serve has really been questionable to over the last couple of days, he's been very inconsistent, and the way Rafa looked today, he wasn't playing passive, he was very aggressive and I look for him to continue that aggression against Andy.
I don't know though it should be a good match. When Murray decides to show up he can be the best player in the world. I just don't think he has that form right now, but only time will tell.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#4821You're right Goat. Nadal retired at the Aus Open so you need to negate that from the head to head. Also, Yezzir's figures are including 2 indoor hard matches which need to be eliminated as they're not relevant.
The actual H2H on hard court is: 3-1 Nadal with Murray's one win coming 2 years ago at the US Open.

Still debating what I want to do but anything I play will be posted soon as I want to try to sleep a few hours before the men start. Think I'm starting to get superstitious in my old age though - didn't post my big play yesterday and it hit and now I'm worried if I post it today it'll lose. Friggin crazy cow I am.
