Soderling pulled it out! One of the few top players will grind out a win in non-major events. I hope Querrey pulls out a win. I know a lot of people here are on him.

#4627hey shari, how ya doin'?
been lurking for a little while and decided to tail today. great job!
that fognini pick was lights out!!!
quick question for ya:
i've got a nice 4-teamer going:
fognini
vesnina
malisse
jankovic
as you know, the first three are winners, but i'm wondering if i should hedge against jankovic and bet dushevina at +180? if i do, i definitely lock up profit. u think jelena takes this easy? or should i just play it safe?
thanks for the awesome picks

#4633Its tennis Shari. public doesn't win. I don't know why people follow these line movements at these books. There are more square Americans betting tennis probably than any other sport. Any line movement you see at any U.S. Book should not even be considered for Tennis. That's always how I felt.Originally posted by shari91And Cilic goes down to Troicki?

What a f'n joke. Honestly, I know I preach this every week at the start of tournaments but please BE CAREFUL with your bets if you're taking big favs or following line movement. Between Cilic and Petschner, and anyone who followed Fognini's movement as well, I can only guess a lot of bets went down the tubes.
Nice day for you. Looking forward to tomorrow, some interesting matches. I got a nice tip today

#4635I don't agree 100%. There are times line movement indicate something dodgy is going on but it's matter of figuring out what. As we saw yesterday in the Petschner match the massive line drop did indicating fixing but it was only for the first set as indicated by the bets matched on Betfair. But anyone who didn't know that and jumped on the ML for a 'sure winner', lost and ate heavy chalk too depending on when they got on. The best thing to do is stay away from those matches unless you jumped on before anything funny started to happen.
But for legit matches, line movement may indicate people are piling on a player but that doesn't necessarily mean they're right or even know what they're doing. For all we know, they're simply chasing line movement themselves.

#4636Fixes are easy to spot especially if your watching the match. It was obvious Dolgo dropped a good amount on Petz to win the first set.
The only thing square betters look at is records on surfaces and Head to Head. They have no other knowledge. That's why Stepanek was hit a few hours before the match. No line movement in tennis ever scares me off my pick unless I see like a 20 cent changes within a few minutes or if I see something like the Petz match where he dropped to -400 and more and more in a few hours.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#4647shari, mind sharing some of your wisdom regarding the following parlay:
3 team parlay at +100:
Andy Murray -425* vs Xavier Malisse
B.Bryan/M.Bryan -500* vs S.Aspelin/P.Hanley
L.Raymond/R.Stubbs -285* vs N.Grandin/A.Spears
I know this is as square as it gets, but would this be a horrible bet?Comment -

#4648Let me guess - did you bet baseball? Seems to have been a bit of rough day for a lot of people in MLB. And go figure, I tailed Paco on the Angels RL, parlayed them and the Padres and then decided on my own to play the under in both the late games and all the bets won. You know something screwy is going on when I pick winners in baseball.Originally posted by MUHerd37Barely made any money today. Hoping for a big day today tho!
That's why I'm not expecting too much out of tennis today. All of my bets won except for Zheng and those wins mixed with the MLB ones makes me think I'm probably going to get hit a bit now. Murphy's Law.Comment -
