#2908WEDNESDAY
BOLELLI +158
The Italian draws Juan Ignacio Chela. Bolelli has won both head-2-head meetings, including a tight straight sets win in Madrid in May on dirt. Bolelli has been on a decent run in the last few weeks with a Challenger clay title late in June. He went to the QFs at this Umag event last season too. Chela rolled in his opener in Croatia, but he hasn't pieced back-2-back wins in the main draw of an ATP event since winning the Houston tournament in April. If Bolelli brings his best serve which can be very hard to break, I think he has enough to beat Chela and advance.Comment -

#2910yes confirmed....he did pull it...i was watching it when it happened...he wrapped his leg up tight and continued to play for the last few games that were left and he still won......are hamstring injuries a big deal in tennis?.....not sure...he didnt look like he was in pain at all....but maybe after the game he felt pain....Comment -

#2911Anything to do with the legs is a big deal. Can effect power on shots/serve and obviously just in general getting to balls, etc.Comment -

#2912F-ing 5Dimes is being super lazy on getting lines up for tomorrow. Wanted to go Gasquet-Ferrero for a parlay, but no line up for JCF. No totals. Blah. Guess I'll see what lines are available when I get up in the morning.Comment -

#2915Gotta love small bladders & a degenerate's mentality. Woke up during the night to go take a leak. Before I went to go curl back up to the new puppy, I opened the laptop and put down the Gasquet-JCF parlay at -123. I hope JCF cashes it because 5Dimes pissed me off by not having that line up last night. Stayed up till 1am my time waiting for it, finally had to go to sleep because I get up at 7. So I feel like raping those F-sticks today since it was the only ATP match they did not have listed for the two tourneys that start in the morning.

#2916Dolgopolov played doubles after his match yesterday, so can't have been that bad. Even if it's not a fix, he's clearly told someone he's not going to win, needs the rest, whatever.Comment -

Bolleli shot making and flatness will give Chela all sorts of problems, best dog of the day.
Also got a parlay of Ferrero/Gimeno Traver/Gasquet which I did early this morning.
Gasquet won in 3, G-T up 1 set, looking ok so far.Comment -

#2919ANDREEV -158
Ah nothing like a morning round of Russian Roulette! My rule #1 in tennis betting is DON'T TRUST RUSSIANS. Well, I'm not breaking that here, but I do think Andreev is a good play today. He has played very well at this Gstaad tournament over the past three seasons with three consecutive semifinal or better appearances here. He took out Serra in his opener in 3 sets, showing some of the expected rust from a long layoff. His foe today is the Swiss, Chiudinelli who knocked off defending champ Bellucci yesterday in 3 roller coaster sets, losing the middle one 6-0. While he has shown some decent form on dirt in recent weeks, it is still by far his weakest surface with a 40% win rate in his career on it. Until the Bellucci win, the majority of his few wins on clay this season had come against guys you'd expect him to have a shot to beat and rightfully, he'd lose most to the more experienced clay types. Andreev played some fairly solid dirt ball on the South American swing to start the year off before suffering through a poor Spring on hard courts. He injured his ankle on the clay in Madrid in May and may just now be feeling close to fit. Most will jump on the Swiss here, believing if he can beat Bellucci, he should mop up with Andreev. With Andreev's track record at this tournament and perhaps now some expectation on Chiudinelli after his win, I think the Russian's experience can win out here. Break point conversions/saves could be the big factor here, Andreev did a better job against Serra [3/7] while Chiudinelli only convered 1/7 against Bellucci. Andreev saved 7/10 of his own breakers, while Chiudinelli saved 4 of 7. Whomever wins out in those two categories is likely going to win this match IMO. Load that bullet, spin the chamber and get your Roulette on.

#2923Surprised it took this long. At 1am last night, Skugor was +120 compared to what people have said this morning, that is crazy. Really weird that two straight matches involving this guy have gone that way too. He's probably hoping for a healthy opponent if he makes the next round or the ATP might start investigating even though everything looks legit - just lots of injury assumptions.Comment -

#2937Again, why I say RUN AWAY from these matches unless you made your play before the line movement because now everyone is sitting around wondering why is the line doing this, why is the long doing that? My thoughts are that the books reset it hoping to get people to go on Dolgopolov to try and offset the loss they're gonna get hammered with if Skugor wins. That's why you should never trust the line movement in tennis.Comment -

#2939Both Bolelli and Chela played like WTA idiots on-serve in the 1st serve, but Chela won the tie break. Bolelli could have easily rolled through that set after breaking Chela in his 1st service game. Blah.
Gstaad is done for today, Andreev leads Chiudinelli 2-1 in the 1st set when the rain hit.Comment
